Then they hide the original spying and pretend they conveniently noticed speeding or a taillight out, or weaving or who knows whatever story to clean it up for the prosecution and trial. Agents are directed to lie and perjure themselves on the stand about the true origins of the case if it gets that far, but they depend on defendants pleading out.
Do you all understand how truly insidious this is?
A former federal agent in the northeastern United States who received such tips from SOD described the process. "You'd be told only, Be at a certain truck stop at a certain time and look for a certain vehicle.' And so we'd alert the state police to find an excuse to stop that vehicle, and then have a drug dog search it," the agent said.
After an arrest was made, agents then pretended that their investigation began with the traffic stop, not with the SOD tip, the former agent said. The training document reviewed by Reuters refers to this process as "parallel construction."

so basically ALL our rights are *poof* GONE now a days. I may as well swallow the fact that my posting and conversations on the phone are no longer my own.... where does it END? right?
I may not have any reason to fear the DEA...but at this point, ALL Govt agencies are working with the NSA to track EVERYTHING...
I am NOT a happy camper right now

(3,891 posts)But sadly, too many here don't. If we can't convince Democrats that this is a horrific policy, how can we convince the rest of the nation?
