Liz Cheney IMPROPERLY Received State Resident Fishing Licence Based On INCORRECT INFO

Senate candidate Liz Cheney improperly received a state resident fishing license based on an application with incorrect information, according to Wyoming Game and Fish Department records.

Cheney, who last month announced she will challenge Sen. Mike Enzi in the 2014 Republican primary, received her resident license just 72 days after closing on her Wilson house in May 2012. State law requires residents live in the state 365 consecutive days before they can receive a resident hunting or fishing license, which are cheaper than out-of-state licenses.

Cheney’s application also lists her as a 10-year resident of Wyoming.

The Game and Fish records are incorrect, Cheney told the Star-Tribune.

“The clerk must have made a mistake,” she said. “I never claimed to be a 10-year resident.”

Under penalty of prosecution, I swear that the information given by me on this application is true and correct. I swear, under penalty of prosecution, that I, or the youth applicant for whom I am applying, is a Wyoming Resident as defined in W.S. 23.1. 102(a)(ix)(xv) yatta yatta yatta and have/has been domiciled in Wyoming for not less than one (1) year and have/has not claimed residency elsewhere for any purpose during the one (1) year immediately preceding the date of application for this license(s) and that I, or the youth applicant for whom I am applying, have/has continuously resided in Wyoming for the past ten (10) years immediately preceding the date of application for this license(s).

I can think of lots of things to criticize the Cheneys for. This seems a little silly, really. Minnesota has similar laws, and I had a non-resident fishing license for the first year I lived here. The next year, I bought a resident license. However, if I had waited until I had my Minnesota driver's license, nobody would even have asked how long I had lived here, and I could have purchased a resident license, even before I had lived here a year.

Those rules are there to prevent out-of-state residents from getting resident licenses. That's a good idea, I suppose, but not an earth-shaking problem if someone who has just moved to the state gets a resident license. It's just not that big a deal.

It's entirely appropriate to put her over the coals, particularly if she lied and is now trying to stick the clerk with her prevarications.

This is the fucking nutjob that used to wave her gun around the state department when she was in that middle east job that her father invented for her--she's pond scum.

She is a liar who wants to be a senator--it IS a big deal.

That someone as rich as her would cheat to save a few bucks on a fishing license--

I wonder if they would prosecute a lesser personage who did this.

You don't just sign shit without reading it, or if you do, you may pay the consequences.

If I was caught doing the same thing, you can be damned sure the state would prosecute me.

and it reveals the typical sense of privilege of the rich and infamous.

I can't wait to hear the clerk tell the truth of the matter.

...well that's one person who won't be voting for her, anyway.

If I were the clerk who took her information I'd be talking to a reporter right about now...

15. When you are wealthy, you can be a "resident" of anyplace YOU choose
Tue Aug 6, 2013, 01:48 PM
Aug 2013

You can claim your birth state
You can claim your parents/ancestors' state
You can have many homes in many states and choose whenever the need arises

MANY politicians have had sketchy connections to their districts/states they were elected to represent...

"Residency" should be the place you read/receive your mail..where your kids physically attend school, where you park your car..etc..

For people with multiple residences, there is a formula that states use to assess taxes, so it IS possible to determine which ONE state has to/gets to "claim" you as a primary resident. To all others, you are but a visitor..

and it's not only republicans who have had issues with the carpetbagger-image

ETA: They are very picky about residency status for hunting and fishing licenses.
