(30,947 posts)It saves having to push a shopping cart around and then unloading everything at the checkout counter. And it will absolutely eliminate long checkout lines. When will it be coming to the U.S.?

(102,236 posts)Maybe that isn't an issue, but having paid for products that somehow never made it into my bags with the "traditional" system, but which are typically caught before I exit the store when I notice the item still on the bagging area, it does make me wonder if this will be a problem. Perhaps no more so than with our current system, though.
But, how I shall miss the mega carts with the child-friendly "driving cab" packed with tired, unruly, crying children slamming into me as their distracted, frustrated, screaming parent tries to negotiate the packed aisles. Or the cell-phone obsessed and distracted narcissists slamming the freezer doors on me. yeah, I'll miss THAT...

(32,139 posts)If I'm gonna shop by screen anyway, why do I want to spend an hour standing in a store to do it?

(45,274 posts)The goods don't have to be on dsplay & can be stored much more efficiently. You only actually need 1 screen per customer, I suppose-sort of like Amazon. You click on the product category & drill down to the item you want. There could also be product reviews, etc. right in front of the customers' noses.
