I seem to recall an ex-congressman and ex-republican pointing out that they could never win if they ran on purely economic issues. That if they wanted to win they had to run on moral and reigious issues.

walking over that line. He is attacking everyone who doesn't believe like him. He isn't a catholic at all. He is an evengelica because that is the way they think and refuse to bend on anything. Keep talking holy ricky. You are making a fool of yourself in front of the whole country and especially your family.

Is it me, or do more and more people seem to be following him? The DU home page indicates he's leading Romney.

....it's all about seizing the headlines each day. Whoever seizes the headlines wins the day. We saw that bloom during the impeachment, where the VRWC had an outrage each day for the press to jump on. Drip, drip, drip. And we all remember each day's ridiculous headline grab in the Bush occupation of the WH. Presidential campaigns were fraught with little scandals. Distractions became the rule.

And distractions began to be manufactured. I believe Rove kept some in his back pocket so as to grab the day's news in case there was a negative story he didn't like.

They were losing the budget battle so they changed the conversation to sexual issues. Works every time! Rove must be laughing in glee!

Luckily for us, though, they've shown their hand badly, and they're about to lose it all.

There are too many women who have had a taste of freedom via reliable birth control, and we're not willing to allow a group of old white men to dictate our sexuality any longer. If the Democrats wanted to make a campaign commercial that would ensure the House, Senate and White House for the next 20 years, they've been given all the sound bites and photographs they need to do so over the past two weeks. I might also mention that women still make up 52% of voters in this country.

This one's going to leave a mark.

But they are now treading on basic civil rights for women to be covered for their healthcare. This was never a religious issue, it was a labor issue and what employers are required by law to cover.

Why should women be singled out to be treated differently, and why via all Male panels?

They "cold-read" the audience to see which of the current lines-of-shit get the most response from the nitwits present. The various media delays add a wierd staggered echo to the whole process.

They don't want jobs and consequently have done NOTHING to provide for creating more jobs. Fewer jobs means less overhead and more $ in the pockets of their "base" as W called them.
Every word is a calculated distraction.

Happy it wasn't the throwback, gay rights, issue... but still equally disconcerting. These people don't have a clue what the American people want.
