Rolling Stone journalist Michael Hastings’ body was cremated against his family’s wishes, destroying potential evidence that could have contradicted the explanation that he died as a result of an accident, according to San Diego 6 reporter Kimberly Dvorak.

I do take Alex Jone's links, etc. with a grain of salt. But many times he talks on issues like the Snowden issues, etc. and covers them in much the same way that our progressive sources would. So I think its a bit premature to say that his story is BS, though I think definitely we need to have alternative sources of this information to establish what the real facts are.

In short, just because Alex Jones covers a story, that doesn't mean we should ignore the story. Just question what he writes about it and try to find independent sources to corroborate some of it or deny it. Too much of the corporate media ignores stories like this, which is why we need journalists on the fringes (like Hastings was to us earlier) to fill in these gaps.

Here's another link that also points to the channel 6 report, which I think does provide us an independent source. I've yet to see anyone "deny" that the family didn't want the body cremated. We need that link here if we're going to dismiss this story out of hand.

This thread on firedoglake says that they've yet to confirm the family's wishes from a family member, but a close friend to the family had confirmed it. That doesn't seem like a denial just yet. Sounds like we still need to wait until we hear more of where this goes before pushing it aside.

Secondly, do we KNOW that Mr. Biggs is the only source she was talking to to establish what the family wanted or didn't want? It could have been someone else at the funeral that did confirm for her that the family didn't want this. I think its a bit premature to jump to conclusions just based on someone's twitter output on what may be a big story. We simply don't have enough facts yet. Someone will hopefully step in to Mr. Hastings footsteps and do a more thorough job at giving them to us.

Seems unconfirmed to me. I watched the San Diego channel 6 vid, she had spoken to friends of the family claiming this, hadn't gotten confirmation from the actual family yet. If it's true it's very disturbing. Of course the Hastings death is disturbing regardless.

29. However Hastings crash came about , I think Jones and Dvorak are

taking advantage of Biggs to further their own agenda. The san diego 6 news lady is a teabagger who pushed the Benghazi scandal so I'm suspicious of her motives. I found an article written by an ex- LA crime reporter that refutes the bomb theory being put forward by some people. The author didn't post the video though.

Shortly before 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, I was walking with my girlfriend, Nancy Silverton, to get my car, which I had left the night before at her restaurant, Pizzeria Mozza, at Highland and Melrose avenues. Walking west on Melrose, we noticed crime scene tape as we arrived at Highland. Just to the south, a wrecked and charred car was being pulled away from a palm tree in the median.

Later, when the pizzeria manager arrived at work, we watched the security camera footage. There’s no wonder it was a fatality. The crash ended with a hellish explosion and fire. The officer, watching the video with us, was as stunned as we were. He said, “I have never seen a car explode like that.”


I showed the video to Scott E. Anderson, an Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor with Digital Sandbox who has engineered explosions for many films.He viewed the footage more than 20 times at various speeds, including frame by frame. Anderson concluded, “This was not a bomb.”

He said a bomb would have propelled the car upward, not forward.“It’s very hard to blow up stuff well,” Anderson said. “I think too many things would have to go right. Luck would be involved. Good and bad. Does someone doing this to Hastings want to rely on luck? Too many things have to go right. It would have to be perfect. And that’s almost impossible.”He continued, “It comes down to physics. A bomb would have lifted the car and the engine up. Based on this video, the car doesn’t go up, and the engine goes forward, which makes sense since the car apparently did not hit the tree head on.”
