https://www.floridadems.org/crmapi/contributeMs. Allison Tant is the chair of the Florida Democratic Party, and I'm sure she would be glad to hear how Florida Dems and other Dems feel about the SYG law. You can contact our Party at [email protected], and let them know you would like to see the party challenge SYG.
State Sen. Chris Smith, D-Fort Lauderdale is opposed to SYG, and he is the Democratic Party leader in the Florida Senate. I would like to find out how the rest of our Senators and Representatives feel about SYG.
IMHO, I feel this is a more constructive option than a boycott of the state. If you disagree, we will agree to disagree.

(37,457 posts)An Amendment would be great. For the time being for we Floridians, this is what I recommend. An amendment to the Florida Constitution would be cool too.

(17,064 posts)The Dem Party of Florida is part of the problem, not the solution. It is very dysfunctional, and spends more effort battling progressives in the Party than GOP opponants.
My suggestion os to donate to Florida Progressives, either individually or through Progressive Democrats of America. Donations can also be made to the Progressive Caucuses in Congress.
Alternatively, donations can be made to the NAACP or to the ACLU.
Any of these suggestions would likely give more bang for the buck than giving to a party controlled by third way corporatist dems.
