SHAME on MSNBC

A picture of Trayvon Martin's dead body is on their web site. Not an abstract picture, either, but one that shows his face in a horrible way. Not bloody. Just horrible.

I don't care what your view of the trial or guilt/innocence is, this is NOT what ought to be shown to the general public.

I am disgusted.

In order to get people to accept an uncomfortable truth of an issue you have to make denial impossible. Young mister Martin death was accepted in concept, Now it is an in-your-face tragedy.

Speaking just for myself, I clicked on that link with great hesitancy. I barely ever click on links to something I fear will be gory or gruesome. That picture was neither. What it was was completely heartbreaking.

The M$M learned a valuable lesson from Vietnam...keep the horrors of reality off the front page. It disturbs people, as cold hard reality should. Instead, always create the narrative and control what is seen to create a false reality.

The fact that you want to live in that false reality is not my concern. I want people to see the results of out of control gun laws, sorry if you do not.

There's NO way that Trayvon could have been on top of Zimmerman straddling him in wet grass and end up with clean pants with no stains or dirt on the knees.

I do not remember this fact being stated in Court !!!

One way the conservatives get away with their constant death policies--ranging from stand-your-ground laws to an illegal invasion of an innocent nation--is by sanitizing death, by pretending it is just a story. Make it real. Post pictures of headless war victims, post pictures of murdered sacrifices to the gun industry. Make this nation see the truth of its policies. If people are forced to face the facts of their votes and their policies and their actions, maybe just maybe they'll start to grow up a little.

That said, though, sometimes people have to be directly confronted with such images, to shake them out of their apathy and complacency.

I can see both sides of the question.

That picture confirms what a lot of us think what exactly happened that night, and I really hope that justice is done.
