Cop Shot Litter of Kittens in Front of Screaming Children

"in Ohio, animal control Officer Barry Accorti shot and killed a litter of kittens in front of freaked-out children nearby. “He informed [a witness] that shelters were full and that these cats would be going to kitty heaven,” Ohio SPCA Executive Director Teresa Landon told the Sun News.

"Landon said the home owner, who had called for help, assumed the officer "would be trapping them or something and taking them to a shelter and they would be humanely euthanized if they were not adopted."

“Instead, he went to his truck and got a gun, which she thought was a tranquilizer gun, and walked around to the back of the house and approximately 15 feet from her back door shot and killed the 8- to 10-week-old kittens.”
...
“Her children were upstairs in view of the windows. They started screaming and crying because they heard the gunshots. They started screaming, ‘Mommy, he’s killing the kittens,’” Landon said, “It’s heartbreaking… There is no excuse for it. It’s absolutely shameful that someone with the title of humane officer would do this.”

kicked out of the force, charged with cruelty to animals, multiple counts, and sued for emotional distress of that entire family, and be incarcerated in a place where he can get the help he needs, if help is possible.

Is the police chief elected? If not, is the person who appointed him elected?

Get cop and the chief out. They don't belong on a police force.

North Ridgeville is a city located along the eastern border of Lorain County, Ohio, United States. The city has most recently become infamous for its handling of the "Woodpile 5" incident. This incident involved a police officer who shot five kittens while terrified children watched and screamed.[6] The police chief, Mike Freeman, refused to offer even a perfunctory apology for the incident and declined to discipline the officer for firing his weapon in an irresponsible manner. The city's population was 29,465 at the 2010 census. A west side suburb of Cleveland, North Ridgeville was the number 1 fastest growing city in the entire Greater Cleveland area, prior to the "Woodpile 5" incident.

control officer showed up and didn't really want anything to do with it. We flushed it out of the shrubs by the house and he just watched it limp into another big bush. So he say something like, "I'll never get it it out of there." Acting like he's just going to leave. I said now problem and got the hose. Told him we can get it out of there easy. That at least got the "cop" to get his pole with the snare out of his truck.

You could see the collar on this cat and I could tell he wasn't really hurt that bad. In fact if his owner could have been there, he may have been able to get his cat, chop the bolt in half and might not have even needed to take him to the vet.

I get the "cop" on one side of the bush and hit it with the water and out comes the cat. That idiot just let the cat limp right by him, only making a half-assed effort with the snare. He just didn't care about trying to save a cat. That could have been some little girls best buddy. It could have been my grizzled old farts best buddy!

The cat ran into some serious brush and I let it go. I really wanted to kick that little weasles ass!

By the time he came, I gave it some water and some salmon leftover. It half heartily ate and drank a little, but I was afraid to try and pick it up without hurting it more or getting bit. I had called animal control but apparently that was their day off, it was only one person, so the policeman showed up. So I left for work with the policeman talking to the kitty in my back yard, when I came home it was gone.

I don't know if he killed the cat or waited for it to die. I live in a small pretty well off town, or it used to be, who knows the future since our last (large, pharmaceutical ) factory closed down this year.

Remember children... Don't talk to cops! They are not your friends. They do not work for you. They are not there to help you. Keep tour mouth shut!

Then, if they don't go away, call an attorney.

What is even more horrific is that the city of Ridgeville plans on keeping this officer.

And in other news the FBI has been faultless in the deaths of 150 people they killed.

America is going down the ----hole.

What a fucking idiot this cop is. Shooting a firearm that close to a house when there was no danger should get him fired. The North Ridgeville Police Department Chief should also be fired as he obviously does not have any common sense.

She called the cops to take them to the shelter to be euthanized. She knew full well those kittens would be killed. The only reason this made the paper is because her poor snowflakes had to watch it happen. The officer is a psycho but the woman is cruel and heartless. They can both rot.
