Ari has the most evil eyes and grin I have seen in a while other than Pope Benedict. Do not believe for one second they only spy on foreign communications....that monolithic NSA building is meant for Americans. MAybe one component of one program focused on overseas contacts but most is to record every keystroke, password, chat msg, text, video etc made by EVERY American...this is what fascism brings when people dont put a spike in it initially. In fact, Obama has rehabilitated the Bush family image by not prosecuting and even defending and continuing his policies just like Bill Clinton did for Daddy Bush so expect Jeb Bush in 2016 and if he loses unexpectedly then they will have their B-Team war hawk, police state back-up with Hillary. I remember the 1992 PBS roundtable primary debate well...Jerry brown had them throw a photo of Bill Clinton and Sam Nunn 'inspecting' a boot camp in GA of all African Americans drug war arrestees in a private prison chain-gang complete with zebra stripped fatigues. Bill turned beet red and turned to Jerry with hatred in his eyes as he angrily yelled, "You don't know what you're messing with, Jerry!" Well now we do know as Daddy Bush refers to Bill as his 5th son after 2000 and the disgusting display at the coronation of the GW Bush library. One big happy family as they laugh all the way to the bank. Ari is the worst as we saw after 2001 as he used that tragedy to turn us to fascism. Expect them to use all this Patriot Act stuff in the future for any reason whether it be political, journalistic, personally embarrassing or potentially criminal...this is an evil beast that needs to be ended or we don't live in a free country anymore and there are no freedoms to defend in these pointless foreign wars. How I yearn for Paul Wellstone and Russ Feingold.

of all places!

It is not only disgusting, but also un-American to support something that goes against our constitutional rights, and should be grounds for a tombstone, imho.

I took an oath when I joined our military to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; to bear true faith and allegiance to the same, and I will be damned if I will tolerate attacks against it now on the internet, especially on my chosen political discussion site that reports to represent the same values I hold dear.

http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/oathofenlist.htm

It is time for all Americans to stand up and defend our constitutional rights, we on DU have been doing so since 2001, do NOT expect us to change now!

But hey, let's spend all our time talking about an 8-year-old program instead. That's far more convenient to the Democratic senators who just voted to cut food stamps.

Number of posts on this 8-year-old program which is suddenly a big deal? Tons.

as are doing so on this one, citing the House bill that must be reconciled with and "having to get something passed" getting set up for the good old "he had to sign the bill, what about the good stuff" line.

I grow weary of the games and talk of games.
