Justin Bieber was booed at the Billboard Music Awards, despite winning two awards and performing twice.
The"Beauty and the Beat" singer was accepting the Milestone Award when the crowd seemed to erupt in boos. Looking a bit confused, Bieber went onto assert that he thinks only the"craft" and his music should be considered, arguing that "none of the other bull" mattered. While it's unclear what Bieber was referencing, he has had a number of bad public relations moments as of late, having lost his temper with the paparazzi in London and being caught smoking marijuana.
"This is not a gimmick," Bieber said. "Im an artist and I should be taken seriously.
Bieber beat out a number of other artists, including Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift for the award. The Milestone Award was actually Biebers second trophy of the night. He also took home Top Male Artist.

(22,271 posts)Since when is teeny bopper music "craft" and sung by someone whose never been in a vocal studio an "artist?" Somebody needs to take this kid on a trip to any university music department and watch students while they practice 6-8 hours a day BESIDES attending classes, studying and attending/playing concerts. This kid's gonna crash and burn early.

(15,859 posts)He's very talented. At many instruments. His teeny bopper crap aside...
Watch him play the drums as a kid:
And tell me he's not talented.

(22,271 posts)Nowhere in my post did I say he's not talented. But talented must be coupled with YEARS of serious study and practice in order to make what he produces craft. Just because you play an instrument doesn't make you an artist. I've seen first-year drumming students do what he's doing in that video. In contrast, I heard a young man sing this last weekend whose voice was angelic perfection. He was 12 years old and it was VERY clear that he is studying and practicing. I could have listened to him all day.

he's a slow motion trainwreck.
His "shine" will wear off in a few more years.
and the cycle of crazy self centered teen "artists" continue.

(15,859 posts)He's actually a very talented multi-instrumentalist and has been since he was a child. Not many people take the time to look past what is presented on the surface. Mr. has played guitar for almost two thirds of his life and gives the kid credit where its due. He's talented.
