(81,507 posts)Only problem is - "when you cry wolf long enough and loud enough... people stop giving a sh*t" - I wish that were true! Seems like too many people still buy into this crap. And it doesn't explain why that damn limbaugh and his clones stay in business.

Especially when some of these ass hats get on a panel, why doesn't the host ask if they really believe this crap.

I just re-read that list and realized how horrific life must be for those who actually BELIEVE all of that has happened...its sad that the animals at Fox and on right wing radio KNOW their full of shit and spouting talking points, yet that go right on doing it anyway...amoral fuckers, all of them!

(7,403 posts)I remember my dad listening to Gabriel Heater, then Drew Lewis, Paul Harvey, Bob Novak and now Rush Limbaugh. And that's just the names that I remember. 65 years uninterrupted and the message never changes.
DissidentVoice
(813 posts)I don't remember the others but Paul Harvey was relatively harmless compared to Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity and especially the odious Michael "autism doesn't exist" Savage.
I lay most of the political divisions in this country as they are now squarely at the feet of Rush Limbaugh.

(17,199 posts)We wanted to know who her owner was, and we wanted to know how much he got for her.... She might have outlived her usefulness on the plantation, Limbaugh declared. I mean, [you] never know, child-rearing years are over so maybe her value had plummeted. ~Limbaugh, February 14, 2013 in reference to Black US Congresswoman, Shelia Jackson Lee
He thinks he's getting away with comments like this. He's not. Last month I published a diary about his sponsors leaving, http://www.dailykos.com/... and it received over 18k facebook likes/shares. People are hungry - starving to see him go, and thousands of consumers are contacting his sponsors via StopRush.net and signing petitions like the one below. Organizations like Daily Kos, UniteWomen.org, Planned Parenthood, Media Matters and other groups, are exposing Limbaugh for who and what he is. His behavior is that of a racist, sexist, gay-hating, lying bigot. This is not me, 'name-calling'. This is truth in media, and backed up by Limbaugh's very own words in audio/video.
The good news? In one month, over 300 more sponsors have pulled ads, now totaling over 2,500. (This does not count the 800 or so who have 'left quietly') Limbaugh now averages a loss of 10 sponsors per day. To make up for these sponsorship losses, it is known he has been subsidized by outside sources including FreedomWorks (backed by the Tea Party). And I'm betting he is having to subsidize himself, to stay on the air.

(30,058 posts)As I heard these stories I sought truth a d found tbese was not true stories, try to explain and provide the truth but was fought all the way. One of the sources passing these tales is a deacon in a SBC church. I don't know where he got his stories but surely he did not check to see if they was true. Romney was caught in RW talk show falsehood during the debates and guess it wasn't good enough to show why the tales needs to stop.

(2,522 posts)the more they claim to be right.
It is easier to forgive someone for being wrong than it is to forgive them for being right.
It also requires self-esteem to admit a mistake, and a sense of personal worth also helps. When one feels powerless, it is difficult to admit being wrong, because it makes one even more powerless.
Eventually it turns into a religion or a faith - belief without evidence. The more powerful the challenge to faith is. often the more powerful faith becomes.
