11-year-old Caine Smith was choked, beaten, harassed, and was called a long list of names simply because he had two moms and long hair. Instead of staying locked away and hiding, he stood up and did something about it.

(51,740 posts)Long hair is pretty common in my beach town. And no one gives a shit it you have two moms. A lot of the kids have two moms via divorces anyway.
Sweet kid. I hope this does not harden his heart.

(51,740 posts)I would think he would have more resources at his disposal if he was near a large population center. Seems like he is all alone. He doesn't even have any friends. I can't imagine a kid growing up without friends. That's all my 9 year old wants to do is be with his friends. Aren't there any advocacy groups that can help him in Fort Worth? There obviously aren't any in Haltom City.
