Equal time, fairness and all that rot.
Here we go: "Something nice about Republicans."
There, that was tough, but it had to be done.
Please watch this space for next year's thread.
Peace out!

even if it did set the railroads and public transit on the road to ruin, enable suburban sprawl and help set us on the road to petroleum dependency.
Well done, Ike!

(63,912 posts)But improved highways definitely helped the economy.
But you are right in that we should now have a big push on finding cleaner energy and making it more available.

(36,649 posts)Sure it's shallow & sexist, but Republicans appreciate that sort of thing.
Half-Century Man
(5,279 posts)They displace water well.
They can be used as emergency sandbags.
During the Zombie Apocalypse, they will confuse zombie hordes looking like regular people, but without brains to feast on.
In case of unexpected encounters with grizzly bears, you only have to outrun the republicans.
They gather wealth into specific places, so when the revolution comes, we don't have to hunt all over.

(25,592 posts)They give DU its reason for being. (Now if we would/could only deal with the 3rd Way, Blue Dogs, DLC, Republican Lite and other Right-of-Center denizens gumming up the works...

(15,242 posts)That was more than 100 years ago. Republicans evoke the name of Lincoln once a year even though they totaly reject the idea of emancipation and are the primary advocates today for succession. Teddy Roosevelt did not die a Republican so he should not be counted. We should thank them for taking in America's Political Trash aka the Dixiecrats and giving the new home of the KKK (Tea Party) an almost exclusive voice in the Republican Party.
Now if we could convince the spineless to become Republicans.

(10,893 posts)-Pres. Eisenhower did what was necessary in raising top tax rates to 90% to keep the government properly-funded.
-Republican women who I find sexually attractive include S.E. Cupp, Michelle Malkin, Mia Love, Sarah Palin, Nikki Haley, Michele Bachmann, and Ann Coulter.
-Ron Paul's stance on drugs is more progressive than Pres. Obama's.
-I applaud Pres. Reagan's honesty for saying that SS does not contribute to the deficit.
-Bush ll is a better painter than I am.
-I am envious of Rush Limbaugh's paycheck.
-I respect Jon Huntsman for never pandering to the party's fringe while running for the GOP nomination in 2012.
-John McCain and Susan Collins did the right thing in supporting background checks for all gun sales.
-Steve Schmidt and Michael Steele are among the most honest Republicans I have ever seen, who will call their own party out whenever they do something too foolish. Same with Chris Christie.
-Bush ll was a funny president (albeit sometimes unintentionally).
-Ted Nugent was honest enough to admit that he defecated himself to avoid the draft and that he went with a minor.

(2,117 posts)Rank and file Republicans: They're so selfless when they deliberately vote against their own best interests.
Politicians: They're very obedient toward the special interests that own them.
