''Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories.'' -- George Walker Bush, a GOP-appointed pretzeldent of the United States.
"We must speak the truth about terror. Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September the 11th; malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists, themselves, away from the guilty. To inflamOoe ethnic hatred is to advance the cause of terror." -- Commander-n-Thief George Walker Bush speaks to United Nations, November 10, 2001
Poppy didn't care much for "Conspiracy Theorists" either, mentioning them at the funeral of unelected president and former Warren Commissioner Gerald R. Ford.
P
After a deluded gunman assassinated President Kennedy, our nation turned to Gerald Ford and a select handful of others to make sense of that madness. And the conspiracy theorists can say what they will, but the Warren Commission report will always have the final definitive say on this tragic matter. Why? Because Jerry Ford put his name on it and Jerry Fords word was always good.

Seldom remembered and never mentioned in the media or academia are the NAZI connections to the Warren Commission:

When so many find the Truth to be unbelievable shows what kind of remarkably times these are.
How many understood his telling laugh?

Poppy revealed himself to be very, very forgiving about one subject:
''Lets forgive the NAZI war criminals.''
Poppy Bush wants us to move on with der business. He is quoted as stating the above in The New York Times of April 14, 1990.
Anyway, it's almost odd how few are left these days to remember his father, before-he-became-Sen. Prescott Sheldon Bush and his own role in trading with the enemy during World War II:
How utterly coincidental that the Bill of Rights is a thing of the past and the Have-Mores have almost all of it, I'm sure not.

(273 posts)I have a very libertarian friend who still believes there should be a way to prevent dynasties.
All the free market, no regulation in the world for him. But, no kings. Unlimited untaxed holdings by these families, and the ability to buy their way into power at any level ensures we will have kings again.
And Americans like their royalty, so it's just a matter of time.
I wonder what title they'll choose for themselves.

But I think they will keep the theater of government going as long as they can...it provides great distractions from reality.

(273 posts)The title will be slick, and immediately enter the common language. Globally.
It will be a word terribly misused. Something so when written by the doting press will be very positive, but will grate on the rest of us. Something cynical and contradictory.

Then put it in that category.
Poof....you have dismissed all criticism.

(32,139 posts)Particularly ludicrous is when talk of financial corruption in government and in political parties is pooh-poohed as "conspiracy theory," as though financial corruption of governments were not the most pervasive, longstanding, and clearly motivated form of corruption there is.
it's no accident that the only ones around here who persistently bring up crazy conspiracy tales and crazy conspiracy websites are the reliable, familiar defenders of corporatism, trying desperately to smear and discredit legitimate anger over corporate corruption and the steady dismantling of our civil protections.

Back in the bad old Bush days, when Democrats were united in demanding a thorough investigation of 9/11, after Bush incredibly, declared that there would be none, Right Wingers dragged up the old CT charge against Democrats, in their attempt to try to defend their hero.
I remember it well, I can't count the number of times I was called a CT, for almost everything. For stating there were no WMDs in Iraq, for demanding an investigation into 9/11, for questioning Bush's torture policies, etc etc. The 'CT' charge was launched at Democrats every time they asked a question.
It's odd to see it now, sort of a deja vu feeling, used by Democrats against Democrats. When did Democrats join Republicans in their attacks on other Democrats? Why are Democrats supporting Bush now? What happened?
Not that we care, we will continue to question, and the CT talking point has failed as is should since a majority of people around the world, and even here in the propagandized US, do not believe the official Bush story of 9/11. But where did all these 'democrats' who now believe Bush, come from? I never met a single one throughout the Bush years.

Generally it's conservatives that dont want to look beyond their little reality bubbles. If you are going to talk about what really happened on Sept 11, let me get my fingers in my ears first.
