If you go to the end of the interview there are credits as follows:

Prepared by: Sofiane Chourabi
Filmed by: Sofiane Chourabi
Edited by: Amira hamdi
Graphics: Imad Bazzi
Produced by: Institute for War & Peace Reporting

The Institute for War & Peace Reporting is a western NGO founded 1991 during the yugoslav war to train local journalists in conflict zones, and is funded by (among others) NED, US Dept. of State, Carnegie Corp, Rockefellers Bros Fund, USAID, Open Society Institute...

Sofiane Chourabi is a Tunisian blogger who was prominent during the recent Tunisian 'revolution' which overthrew the previous government, hosted by "Freedom House" in 2011.

As of 2010, grants awarded from the US government accounted for most of Freedom House's funding;[4] the grants were not earmarked by the government but allocated through a competitive process. Freedom House is widely regarded as a reliable source. Nonetheless, some critics have accused Freedom House’s reports of bias or of promoting U.S. government interests abroad...The Financial Times has reported that Freedom House is one of several organizations selected by the State Department to receive funding for 'clandestine activities' inside Iran...

IOW, who is promoting the 'amina' story, as opposed to thousands of other narratives out of Tunisia that could be publicized? well, the US government, for one.

Just as actors like Bill Gates, Rupert Murdoch and Jeb Bush can coopt the 'civil rights' narrative to push for education privatization, just as actors like George Bush can coopt the "freedom" narrative to make war, so can the "feminist" narrative be coopted by actors with other agendas.

This does not have to do with amina tyler personally, but with those pushing her story to the forefront.

The earlier ME 'naked protester' has Freedom House connections as well, through her blogger boyfriend.
