Actor Bradley Cooper has been in Boston filming a movie this past month, but took time off to go visit some of the victims that were effected by the bombings.

Jeff Bauman, who lost his legs in the major explosion, was visited at Boston Medical Center by Bradley and New England Patriots player Julian Edelman.

Holding an autographed football, Jeff looks to be in good spirits after the tragic events that have left him seriously injured.

He was also one of the victims that helped the police identify one of the suspects in the attacks.

We pray for the 3 victims that lost their life in the bombings, and we're glad that celebrities like Bradley and Julian are helping out.

The article contains a photo of a pale, but smiling Jeff Bauman giving a thumbs up surrounded by his guests and presumably/possibly his mom.

NASHUA – Thursday morning was just like any other morning shift at Costco, with employees setting up the store in the early hours and readying for the day. Except for the fact that the absence of one dear co-worker, Jeff Bauman Jr., was on everyone’s minds.

That’s why floor manager Tim Flynn had his crew line up in the parking lot and spell out their friend’s name. Lying on the pavement, they lined up their bodies to spell out “JEFF.”

Thursday marked the first day he was hungry and asking for food, Flynn said, and the general manager also showed him the photo of his co-workers in the Costco parking lot.

Some area businesses have rallied around the Bauman family this week, including The Bedford Village Inn and Nashua’s Pizzeria Maria, to assist with medical bills. On GoFundMe.com, the family raised more than $90,000 as of Thursday afternoon through the campaign titled “Bucks for Bauman.”

and motioned to his brother for something to write with, telling him that he saw the bomber. He described the guy with the white hat who dropped the backpack right next to him and behind the little boy Martin, then met his eye before walking away. It was what got the FBI on 'suspect #2's trail.

Both his legs had just been blown off, and he was conscious, sitting up ... amazing guy. Amazing fortitude. Badass indeed.

His is a real human story which brings out the best in everybody.

And George Hrab, who channels Rupert on occasion in his PodCast "Geologic", would undoubtedly feature his story.

The best "Indestructible Bastards" was about race car driver, AJ Foyt, who at 78, remains indestructible, as Rupert would want it.

Here's Rupert about AJ Foyt: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0ByrG6sAGrpWHbXJNYklPRHRLbVU

Or, you can hear the segment as part of Geologic Podcast 261 (at about 14:40)

Priceless, even with the cheesy, phony-baloney Scott accent.

IIRC, the poor guy was working at a Costco deli counter to pay down college loans before heading back some day. $100,000 to those two is chump change.

Carlos Arredondo - it may be safe to say we all would STILL be waiting for a break in the investigation, and the two brother terrorists would be long gone from Massachusetts.

Arredondo is the guy in the cowboy hat seen leaping over the barricades pulling down some fencing so the EMTs could get thru, then he turned to the first victim near him who turned out to be Jeff Bauman. Carlos put out his burning shirt and made a tourniquet for his missing legs, grabbed the nearest person with a wheelchair and helped hold Jeff together literally as they wheeled him to an ambulance...the first casualty to leave the scene and head to a hospital.

Police began the daunting task of sifting thru mountains of video to figure out if they could identify any suspicious activity or persons. Jeff came out of surgery and right away asked for paper. He remembered "Black Cap" setting down the backpack at his feet and described him to investigators. That was the break police needed. They were able to zero in on that detail and soon found the clips that showed the two potential suspects. The photos were given to the press and within one day the suspects had panicked and bolted.

The MIT cop shooting, carjacking, shooting spree thru Watertown and manhunt culminating with the younger brothers dramatic capture last night in that backyard boat ended what would have gone very differently but for two regular guys that became heros.
There are many many first responders, police, fire, FBI,ATF, and officials who all deserve praise for their work. But there are also many just regular folks - I'd call them "primary responders" - who, in desperate moments of crisis - found the strength and courage to do great things.

Jeff and Carlos changed history.

P.S. there is a fund set up to help get Jeff back to college:
From Chancellor Marty Meehan:
"We have established the UMass Lowell Boston Marathon Scholarship Fund, which will benefit any member of the University community, including their families and alumni, who has been affected and wants to pursue an education here.
Anyone who is interested in making a donation to the scholarship fund should contact
