Emails between Komen leadership on the day the Planned Parenthood decision was announced, which were reviewed by HuffPost under the condition they not be published, confirm the source's description of Handel's sole "authority" in crafting and implementing the Planned Parenthood policy.

Handel's strategy to cut off Planned Parenthood involved drafting new guidelines that would prevent Komen from funding any organization that was under investigation by local, state or federal authorities. Since Planned Parenthood is currently the target of a congressional inquiry prompted by House Republicans into the way it uses government funds, the family planning provider would have been immediately disqualified from receiving new Komen grants.

Here's what I'm gonna do: Seems the Fundies are not only after PP but the Girl Scouts of America as well, for allowing a transgender teen to join up. They want us all to boycott GS cookies, when they go on sale this month. But personally, I'm gonna buy as many boxes as I can afford, then take them to my local Planned Parenthood branch and hand them out to all the hardworking staff down there. No more money or support to ANY organization that doesn't take care of women, and ALL my support to the ones that do. Whether the women are natural-born or identify as my gender.

She was a known quantity when they hired her, she wasn't holding anything back.

The organization wanted to get rid of PP in order to placate the religious nuts among their donors.

5. Bad charity anyway

EIGHTEEN people at the top make 6 figures....don't give a lot to research....sue smaller charities for pink items or "for the cure"...

I wouldn't make a blanket statement and say that all large charities are bad, but clearly this one is to enrich the people up top.

I've argued with them like this: Pregnancy requires two participants: And if it's unplanned or unwanted, one can walk away without consequence. The other is stigmatized and left with the hard decisions.

Also, if these idiots care so much about children, why aren't they helping those in Foster Care? Why are they coming after our wombs, but allowing the children they want so much to be born suffer abuse, poverty, and broken families?

I was pretty surprised as well, considering it was about 15 yrs ago the Boy Scouts barred anyone gay from joining. I keep hearing how homophobia is less and less an issue with young people; maybe this helps to prove it.
