Just as Indiana was making progress by deep-sixing that Tea-Party nut Richard Sourcock - they elect the doofus Mike Pence as the gubner - and now this.
The good people of Sullivan can expect a visit from the ACLU very soon.

and their parents are then. I doubt the school has any obligation to hold a prom.

Let the homophobes have their "Traditional" prom - of course not on any school or public property. I bet they won't be able to cover the cost of renting a hall, sound system, and decorations. At least I hope not so that they won't be able to have their little affair. Of course, some church or wealthy homophobe will probably come through and fund it for them.

then it would seem appropriate for them to review everything Jesus said about homosexuality, and make their decisions accordingly.

are rapidly coming to an end, and good riddance to this hateful rubbish that has so long consigned our LGBT friends, neighbors, and family members to second class citizenship.

It is that simple.

And, as you say: It is that simple.

Although, it garners much pain for those who are presently sidelined by the bigotry.

I hope she doesn't spout her garbage to kids at school. She could damage children terribly.
