1. So happy I live in Florida- sometimes it is nice even though we live in a weird state

Although there are some fun parts to hunkering down during a big snowstorm with friends and loved ones and lots of wine and vodka and comfort foods... Then again, it's 82 degrees today here in Miami...

42. I am happier now that I live in Georgia.

I lived in Miami until I moved up here to North Georgia. It is 60 degrees now and sunny. You can have the heat, humidity and bugs down there. I'll take a snow storm any day.

18. You mean this?

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/12/nyregion/12snow.html

First the fire hydrants vanished. Then the tombstones. Then went the mailboxes, parked cars, front doors, stop signs and the bottoms of roadside billboards.

By the time the snow stopped falling this weekend over Oswego County in upstate New York, the streets were lined with snowbanks that obscured anyone walking behind them, shoveling crews were charging upward of $200 an hour to clear the tops of houses, and gawkers were driving in from hours away.

“This is the roof, right?” Mark Fahnestock, 27, asked his companion, Jessica Stiffler, 26, both of Lancaster, Pa., Sunday after he climbed a snowbank so tall that it merged with the roof of a church in Scriba.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=115x83053

Incomplete records prevent the National Weather Service from calling the 11 feet, 9 inches of snow that fell in this upstate village over the past week-and-a-half an official record, but it does beat the 10 feet, 7 inches that fell in nearby Montague over seven days ending Jan. 1, 2002.

The heavy snow was produced by a stalled system of intense lake-effect squalls that blanketed communities along eastern Lake Ontario with from 7 to nearly 12 feet of snow over a 10-day span. Lake-effect snow continued to fall in the area Monday.

Other snowfall totals included 121 inches in Parish and 106 inches in Mexico, both in Oswego County, and 106 inches in Osceola in neighboring Lewis County. The city of Oswego received 85 inches.

19. That's a now famous shot of the Buffalo skyline from a traffic copter, although that type

of snowsquall is more common in Oswego County. I once drove west on Rt. 3 in bright sunlight, turned north on 104 and 1 minute later literally could not see through the windshield. FWIW - right now the snow outside my window is thicker than in Keith's photo!

20. More shots from my home town:

I have no memory of this storm from about a year ago; most people here call last year the year with no snow! Genrally sp
Here's an excellent video - note that despite the snow banks, the driveways are dug out and the road is down to bare pavement!

Unless he has moved. It is on the upper east side, so I guess looking south and west.

Cable, regular TV, radio, I don't care what the vehicle is. We still need his voice out there. Liberals Loudly on the Front Lines! We need as many as we can get! We have a lot of wrong-wingers to out-shout.

We got about the same amount of precipitation yesterday, only it came as much-needed rain. Having grown up in Chicago, I don't miss the winters and the blizzards. I DO miss K.O., however. Wish they'd find a place for him somewhere.

He could help us win back the House. I wish I could hear what he thinks of the fools/crazies who are attacking women's rights...also some of those creationists...and Wayne LaPierre would make him livid. Dann, I miss Olbermann! We're all missing so many great Specials.

He regularly voices his opinion, as well as mixing it up with some of the crazies who troll him. Or, as he calls it, "batting practice".
