Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane told the NYT that she intends to name a special prosecutor in the next few days to investigate how now-governor Tom Corbett handled the investigation of Jerry Sandusky. Kane believes that Corbett deliberately dragged his feet in bringing charges against Sandusky for molesting dozens of boys, and is hoping to get some answers on why it took so long for it to happen.
Ms. Kane, 46, is a former county prosecutor who specialized in child sex abuse cases. She questioned why it took 33 months to arrest Mr. Sandusky in late 2011 after Mr. Corbett, as attorney general, received a complaint against Mr. Sandusky in the spring of 2009.
Its never taken me that long to build a case against a molester, Ms. Kane said in the Harrisburg office she had just moved into, a Carpe Diem paperweight on her desk, adding that speed matters because child abusers seek new victims. I was on the campaign trail almost two years; I didnt go a single place without somebody asking me why it took so long.
She also questioned the influence of campaign donations Mr. Corbett received from a charity Mr. Sandusky founded, the Second Mile, whose board members contributed to Mr. Corbetts run for governor. Investigators at the time suspected Mr. Sandusky of using the foundation, which helped troubled youth, to find victims.

(13,877 posts)What could she do? Run to the police...Not. They would not have believed her if she was not divorcing him, and if she was, there would be accusations of lying for financial/alimony gain.
Confront him? Pedos are not nice people. Anyone who has been in or professionally involved in the family cavern of domestic abuse of any kind, let along pedophilia, knows that often "reporting" leads to just a greater level of "cover-up" and often the shaming of the one who reports. Even the staff at Penn State was hamstrung...pretty much for the same reason.
Don't blame the wife...please. I imagine she has felt like she lived in a grave for a long time.

(20,453 posts)I'm so happy Kathleen Kane is in the AG's seat. My husband calls her, "Lorelai", cause she reminds him of the character.
I believe Corbett has no boundaries on the people who put in into the Governors' chair, including an endorsement from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette (sorry PG, but you fucked up on that one!)
You GO, Lorelai! Kick of coverage. She'd be a great governor, come to think about it

(4,220 posts)She was running for AG and she seemed very, very good since she had been a sex crime investigator previously as noted in the link... She always seemed very together with the facts and apparently won the AG race and now is gonna fuck that rat fuck Corrbett up. He is up to his ears in the coverup and she is gonna run him out of town on a rail, hopefully!!!

(113,052 posts)Corbett couldn't find ONE charge to indict Sandusky?
How many victims of Sandusky's showed evidence of crimes against them to Corbett compared to how much evidence of voter fraud Corbett saw as Atty General.

Even Michigan governor Rick Snyder has chickened out of supporting this election-stealing outrage.
