I believe our President is counting on the bubble mentality to cause a right wing melt down.
After the innauguration speech yesterday they all retreated to their security blanket Fox- and Rush-dug spider holes. And that's where they will stay while convincing each other that everyone must hold the same views as them because Hannity said so.
Every time one of them peeks out - witness Wayne LaPierre - they end up looking like curmudgeonly morons.

(492 posts)Coleman had made public some very serious -- and fairly empty -- accusations that this member of parliament was supporting terrorism by brokering oil sales or some such crap. Galloway appeared in D.C. and spoke before Asshat Coleman's committee. Norm gave him the stage, so to speak, and Galloway totally -- and I mean totally -- destroyed Coleman and eviscerated the Bush administrations "strategy" for war in Iraq. Actually left the fool peeing in his pants, red faced and silent. The result? The freeper blogosphere jumped to Coleman's side, congratulating him on the way he handled Galloway, by allowing him to say "incriminating things," which we could use against him in court. (As if the US had jurisdiction over anything an MP did in the U.K.) "Freeper" of course is synonymous with "cognitively challenged."
So, yeah, Fox's nitwits and guests will all talk about how Johnson was a good soldier who kept his cool despite the horrible things Hillary -- who, as you recall, murdered Vince Foster -- said about the deaths of 4 Americans.

(30,254 posts)I would love to see her debate their nominee in 2016.
I don't believe there will be a Republican party by 2016. They will be out of business by then. And they're doing it to themselves. They are irrelevant in this country and have been for years. Frankly I don't see a purpose for having a two-party political system. What's the point? The GOP temporariliy has the House of Reps until 2014 and what's that doing for them? All they can do is preach about fiscal responsibility and then cave in and give the Dems what they want anyway. Frankly I don't care how high the deficit goes. I won't be around to pay it off. And neither will my kids or grandkids. I don't care. The GOP needs to simply vanish and the Democratic Party can handle things just fine as our sole political party in this country. Hillary will win in a landslide in 2016 and take two terms and then the real question is if there will even be a need for elections with only one party, and who will take over after Hillary. But time is overdue to throw out the GOP and establish this country on the principles of the Democrat Party solely. No GOP, no TeaParty, no Libertarians. They are insignificant anyway. This country is liberal and left leaning and will be forever after. If there is a need for a second party at some point then perhaps it can be a moderate version of the Dems. So, why is Fox News viewership so high? That's my question. Are there that many white conservatives in this country yet who haven't like died yet?

(9,494 posts)that they seem to want even fewer votes from women! I can't believe that sad old poop John McCain is going to get reelected using these tactics.
This is exactly what I thought when I saw coverage about the hearings on the Newshour tonight. Rethugs unwittingly giving Hillary good, free airtime.
Every time I see Hillary in the media (even during this rethug b.s. dog-n-pony-show), I think, "she'd be a strong, and great president".

All these idiots who thought that she was faking her illness to avoid testifying (Yes, I'm talking to you, West, Bolton and Krauthammer); obviously don't know much about her. McCain was the one that knew better and laughed at the idea. Then again, he should know, as they had epic arguments when she was in the Senate. Hillary has always relished a good political fight. She went loaded for bear and left with a few Tea Party scalps.
