Whole Foods CEO John Mackey is backtracking now

This little man does not even have the courage of his own convictions.

How fucking pathetic is this?

Whole Foods CEO John Mackey Says He Regrets Comparing Obamacare To 'Fascism'

Whole Foods founder and CEO John Mackey says he regrets comparing Obamacare to "fascism," but remains critical of the president's health care reform law.

Mackey compared Obamacare to "fascism" in a recent interview with NPR, saying that the government controls "the means of production" in health care. The comments sparked an outcry among Whole Foods shoppers, many of whom emailed The Huffington Post to say they plan to boycott the supermarket chain.

"I regret using that word now because it's got so much baggage attached to it," Mackey told HuffPost Live on Thursday. "Of course, I was just using the standard dictionary definition."

2. Just admit you're a greedy douche who doesn't want his employers to have healthcare but realized

you just bit the hand that feeds you because Liberals are the only ones who pay $6/pound for grapes and be done with it.

3. Waaaay too late. I stopped going there the first time he bashed the ACA.

And we have a lot more options for organic produce than we did a few years ago. Did you just realize this, Mackay?

22. We just got a Whole Foods down the street.

Luckily we already have a good local health/gourmet chain who treats their people right, so I will just stick with them.

5. I've been boycotting that yuppie shithole for many years.

I know two people who sustained injuries in their kitchens due to unsafe working conditions. The scumbags fought them tooth and nail to avoid paying for their injuries.

Whole Foods sucks!

6. Are all libertarians so stupid, or ignorant?

The word fascism NEVER didn't have "baggage". It was INVENTED by Mussolini to describe his fascist government.

10. Sure he is. Backtracking into panic mode

Upon the realization that he just pissed off his target audience and a main portion of his customer base, many of whom will now be strongly searching for alternative sources for their organic foods. Asshole. "Too much baggage" indeed. We always knew that your history with health care wasn't so great based on how you treat your employees so for many of us, shopping at your store was always a bit of a conflict. But now- I do believe you've finally succeeded in pissing off enough of us to really make a dent in your bottom line. Nice work, Mackey. You really are a quite a first class schmuck.

13. He knew what he was saying and doesn't regret saying it.

He just regrets that people aren't rallying to his side and calling for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. The choice of a really, incendiary word as part of a poor analogy is going to cost him. I wasn't that much of a Whole Foods patron - now they won't get so much as a nickel of my money.

20. Who was going to be rallying to his side?

Rich Repuglicons? Is that the customer base of Whole Foods that he was dog-whistling to? Must be. Guess I have to see Whole Foods as a bad company now, with a CEO as effed up as that. Kind of a shame as they carry some things I like but I can get them in other ways. Yeah I'm gonna give them some space. How stupid & hypocritical (all that goodness and wholesomeness But at least we KNOW where he stands, right? Which is useful. At least some of us are not fooled.

Good things in America often turn out to be not so good. That's what it's like in a country where there's so much corruption, and ruled by the super rich.

Oh, they're not? You mean they're affluent, politically aware, liberal people who vote not only on Election Day but with their wallets?

Good lord, what a dumbass.

21. It really baffles me how such an asshole could be involved with Whole Foods.

Is he one of the founders, or was he a hired man brought in to run Whole Foods? If he is hired help, someone had better step in and fire his ass now, because if they don't, in this age of penetrating social media coverage, Whole Foods will be no more soon.
