NRA head defending ad using the Obama girls

NRA head: Controversial ad 'wasn't about the president's daughters'

By Eun Kyung Kim, TODAY contributor
The president of the National Rifle Association defended his organization’s use of President Obama’s children in a web ad about armed guards at schools, insisting Thursday “it wasn’t about the president’s daughters.”

The video is aimed at anyone critical of the NRA and skeptical of the organization’s proposal of how to make schools safer, David Keene told TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie.

“We believe that every parent ought to be able to be comfortable, knowing that their children are safe, and if that requires armed security, it’s as good for the working man as it is for the president,” he said.

the representative of "responsible gun owners," while in reality they represent the manufacturers.

I wish these spokesmodels would do their homework better.

This is called adjusting reality to suit ones position. How dare the president protect his children from the RW crazies who make death threats and not allow armed teachers in every classroom to protect Honey Boo Boo and friends.

It's really a twofer, makes that uppity Obama look like he thinks he is more important than Joe the plumber and renews the message that the best defense against a bad gun is a good gun. Of course David Keene only supports good guns.

The president needs to make the nation aware of that clear connection.

Presidents and their families get the full protection because if they didnt crazy people for a variety of reasons would just assasinate every President and their family.Theres also the prospect of nut jobs kidnapping the President and his family and ask for who knows what.
So the premise that the Presidents family is more worthy of protection is valid as a matter of national security.

12. In the interview I saw, Keene emphasized that the daughters weren't mentioned BY NAME.

So I guess that makes it all okay, in his screwed-up mindset. That, or he's going all-in betting on the stupidity of the populace.

If the manufacturers are paying Keene and LaPierre big bucks to spin their agenda, I hope there's a money-back clause in the contract. Those two are the best spokesmen AGAINST them than could ever be imagined.

However I hope they continue to make mistakes which make it more difficult for our everyday citizen to support their position.
