John Rocker writes Holocaust ‘would have never taken place’ if Jewish people had guns

John Rocker has opened his mouth once again, and not surprisingly, something stupid came out of it.

Rocker, in a rambling column for the conservative website WorldNetDaily, said, “Absolute certainties are a rare thing in this life, but one I think can be collectively agreed upon is the undeniable fact that the Holocaust would have never taken place had the Jewish citizenry of Hitler's Germany had the right to bear arms and defended themselves with those arms."

But he wasn’t done there.

Rocker went on to rip President Obama for the “fiscal cliff” agreement and Obama care, and also accused the president of using the Sandy Hook tragedy for political gain.

“ ... the one issue few members of the GOP, even fewer conservative pundits and, worse, even the National Rifle Association fail to realize is the pressing matter of our age: President Barack Obama’s decision to use the political capital garnered from the Sandy Hook tragedy to make an all-out assault on gun ownership.”

I resent right-wingers misappropriating history that involves the murder of many of my family members to make a nonsense argument against common sense gun regulations.

I think Holocaust revisionism is an accurate term. It falls just short of Holocaust denial in its demented crassness.

...especially with the wingnuts. When you need a quick, knee-jerk reaction, invoke Hitler or something involving the third reich. It's gotten both predictable (especially in regards to the gun "debate&quot and tedious.

BTW...someone want to educate this douchenozzle about the Warsaw Ghetto uprising...they had some guns there, sure didn't fare well once the Tiger tanks came into the ghetto.

The students had plenty of guns. If they hadn't been out numbered 1000 to 1 they might have had a chance. So, it's pretty clear that if I dunno the US army takes on a rebellion in the US that we got it covered cause a couple of overweight middle aged men got some pea shooters.

And the fact that John Rocker is using the Holocaust to further his sick-ass agenda is even worse than what most other rightist gun wackos have done so far, IMHO; on top of this, he STILL managed to go on a general tirade bashing the POTUS. I tell you, it's like the 1950s all over again.....

the rewriting of history by him leads the other side to believe it.
(and it matters little if QT is being sarcastic or not, being that repubs don't get irony/sarcasm, farce and never heard of the onion at all).

Again, everytime I read one of these type things, makes me want more federal security and more cameras and more drones.

Day to day, the # of total people on their side gets smaller.
And after CT, if there were any honest polls, I cannot fathom women being on the side of guns. Maybe 1 to 10 %, but I would bet 90% were horrified seeing what happened at the school.

Tarentino's Inglorious Bastard movie(the one before his current crappy one that again glorifies guns to any rightwing person who would see it) used the same logic John Rocker did.
It was a gun lovers dream come true.

But guns would have done nothing but cause more deaths and quicker deaths.
Hitler took power because of his charisma using the Ron Paul/Ralph Nader lines he said.
Hitler was freely elected by the people for the people. And they would have snuffed out any resistance, gun or not.

If Jews had guns, Schindler would have had zero names on his list to save.
All would have been dead. (along with the 6 million Jews and 20 million that died.)

It's like saying drones can kill innocents, without remembering, without drones, all those innocent people plus tens of thousands more would have died anyhow.

I would answer to John Rocker, that if only there were drones back then and one was dropped on Hitler the day before he dreamed of his diabolical plan, it all could have been avoided, because it was a one man show. Without Hitler, none of what he did would have happened.
He was the movement.
(the same way Ross Perot, Ralph Nader and Ron Paul is/was a one man band.)

matters little if he is or isn't serious.
They don't get it, and they use the same logic

Inglorious Bastards was an NRA dream come true.

But it deeply offended many people who are Jewish (myself included) and is a work of fiction.
But when things like this happen, many believe it as the truth, and later on, you see it coming up again and again.

The If Jews had Guns keeps being said again and again

and basically would mean Jews would have had to be the monsters that Hitler himself was.
Because to have stopped any death, would have meant in advance to kill all of them and that is just such warped logic.

BTW, one of my relatives did have a gun in Austria.
And when the rest of the family made plans to leave, about one week before it would have been impossible, that relative (brother to my grandfather) shot himself in the head, because he did not want to leave and start again.
And that is a true story of one Jewish person in Austria who did have a gun and killed himself.
Do wish he could have been talked out of it and made the journey to America. Would have liked to have known him.

But no amount of bullets would have allowed him to stay in the home that was taken from them, with him alive at the end. It is ludacrist to even think so.

Wish too my grandfather was still here to answer this question, but its been at least 35 years since he died of old age, wish he were here to see how life in America has been since he died, being that he was a liberal then, would still be today, and would have voted for Barack Obama proudly.)
And he would have been mortified to see the racism, anti-semitism, sexism, homophobia that still exists in some growing smaller daily numbers.

That means it's really good satire.

It lampoons the NRA types understanding of history by putting forth a preposterous revenge fantasy story that is completely absent of reality.

"But it deeply offended many people who are Jewish (myself included) and is a work of fiction."

So was The Producers...

Bernie Madoff was a good example of someone who obviously believed the Producers, as he did the same thing.
Bernie was Jewish, as were I think 100% of his clients. He kept it in the family so to say.

But the comparison isn't valid anyhow.
So you are saying Tarentino is a comedian?
Because the comparison only works if that is so.
Tarentino is not a comedian. He is deadly serious.Laughing to the bank deadly serious, making millions.

and I don't agree that QTs movies are satires, as the ones he steals from are not satires.
(especially the grindhouse movies that love their mutilations and gore and forced sex).
And his movies are direct thefts of those movies. He is in love with the style of movie, that those movies he steals from are.

I don't see any redemption in his movies.
In the producers, they end up in jail like Bernie Madoff.
In IB, Christoph Waltz's character has a fairytale ending.
(and what accent was Brad Pitt talking in?)

and well, find no need to defend or not defend a 1960s movie by Mel Brooks, as he is not relevant to 2013. It is true, that Mel Brooks offended everybody.

But the rightwing don't get satire, farce and irony, and shouldn't be fed.

dead bodies, guns, guns, guns, violence, lies about the Holocaust
and he himself gets off on it.

If we can ban every gun, and have to ban him, the world would be a better place.

David Lynch he isn't. So it would be no artistic loss.

Freedom of speech does not allow for yelling fire in a theatre.

As to the ridiculous notion of guns preventing any part of the Holocaust - the good people of Warsaw disagree, and the German High Command and Nazi leadership, while perplexed by the uprising, came to think rather fondly of it - some of them even wholeheartedly wishing for more. A fact that is only further corroborated by Goebbels practically begging for armed jewish resistance all through the thirties in order to push another wave of racist pogroms that would make him dearer to the Führer and outflank good old Heinrich Himmler, who was slowly but constantly gaining the upper hand of the Nazi Junta in those years.
