Santorum Tells A Mother Her Gay Son Is Engaging In Unhealthy Activity That Govt Should Not ‘Promote’

Santorum Tells A Mother Her Gay Son Is Engaging In Unhealthy Activity That Govt Should Not ‘Promote’
By Igor Volsky on Jan 25, 2012 at 9:05 am

Rick Santorum railed against the LGBT community at a campaign stop at Community Christian Academy in Stuart, Florida on Tuesday, telling a woman that her gay son engages in unhealthy activity that the government should not “promote”

“Everybody in America should have the same rights, and I would agree with that,” Santorum said. “Everyone in America should have rights that are endowed to them by the Creator, those are unalienable rights. And your son, just like everyone else here, has those unalienable rights.”

But, Santorum said, “There are certain things that government does that gives people privileges in order to promote activity that are healthy for society and are best for society. And those things we promote would give people advantages or benefits, government benefits because we think that is healthy activity. Mothers and fathers coming together, forming healthy marriages, having children and raising those children. Every American child has the right, and the government should support the right to have and know their mother and father and be raised by their mother and father.”

One of those people who had such a strong catholic upbringing that he has guilt over everything.

Just because he's got a warped religious upbringing doesn't give him the rights to force it upon everyone else.

Now it's off the scale.

He can't stand the fact the he has those unwanted dreams, so he's become a nasty and evil individual. He's overcompensating for his self hate by brown nosing god.

They cannot have children in the natural sense so obviously they should not receive government benefits. Similarly, why should benefits be given to couples whose children have grown and left the home. They are no longer raising children so why should the government continue benefitting them?

If you apply strict logic to Santorum's words, then this is the result. He is a loon and a bigot.

Is he against adoption?

Why is he so preoccupied with other people's sex lives in any case? Republicans claim to want 'small government', and then try to turn the government into Peeping Tom.

Last time I checked the government doesn't 'promote' being gay. Unless you think acknowledging that gay people exist constitutes promotion. Which he probably does, actually.

He's lame and is at the very tail end of the twilight of his career. After he drops out here in a month or two he's done for good and very few people will miss him. In fact, nobody missed him when he was gone the first time.

punished by the same punishment he thinks abortion should be punished by (in his small mind).

After all, mothers and fathers need to come together for healthy marriages.
