Newt wants to save marriage in this country. Since "cash for clunkers" seems to have helped the auto industry, perhaps he has similar ideas about marital relations.

She was a "campaign manager" whom he apparently admitted didn't care if she had to share him or not. She's probably just as happy with the profits she can make off him.

Why has she had a face lift? Those procedures don't usually start till 50's at the earliest.

Then again, if I had to be married to Newt Gingrich, I'd be signing up for permanent sedation...

And comedians quite often say: "I'm here all week. Don't forget to tip your bartender."

No intended snark to you.

Now, if there had been a "rim shot smilie" I would have put that instead of the drummer.

But I've seen pictures of her prior to 2005, (link to some below), and she has gone from a fairly attractive, far more natural appearance during her late 30's-early 40's (with a vaguely Princess Diana look) to this rather brittle looking over-done high-society matron stereotype that is an over-the top mix of the plastic surguries of Laura Bush and Cindy McCain.
She might be have had an allergic reaction to the several plastic surguries she's apparently had since 2000. In which case, I'm sad that she has that problem, but that should have been a warning sign that she should have stopped before she went too far.

Why do so many of the Republican ladies want to look like they belong in a Barbie Box? A shallow observation, true, but right behind any talent or activity that one is doing at the time, appearance plays a major role in the way people react to you. If you want to project that you are capable, serene, and intelligent, you make attempts to cultivate that appearance. What does one project when one affects a manufactured, plasticine appearance?

the "seductive female" Martian in "Mars Attacks" - just give some length to that hair of hers, put it up in a beehive bouffont, put her in a floor-length draped dress, and she could have stepped right out of that movie.
Just saying.
Of course, Newt is starting to look like the Staypuft Marshmallow man, so I'm starting to wonder if there's a warp in the reality field around them both.

To me, it was a mix of her modified appearance and that she was supposed to be Newt's campaign "brain" that used her management savvy to get (or marry) farther in the political sphere than most of those in her job category generally get.
Though some of her choices strike me as questionable for someone who is supposedly as intelligent and capable as her reputation suggested she was. But then again, it's been fairly easy to run most Republican campaigns - there does not seem to need to be any depth or substance, just tent-revival style rhetoric flourish and glitz.
No attributions necessary. You just need to than Tim Burton for the model.

They are not blame. Their only sin was marrying a jackass. I am sure when they first married the idiot that they did not know what they were getting into.
