A speech I would love to hear from an American politician. (Kleenex warning)



1940 – Charlie Chaplin’s first talkie, “The Great Dictator,” premiered on this day in New York City, a full year before America entered the fighting in World War II. Chaplin’s most commercial film earned him the first competitive Academy Award nominations of his long and storied career.

McCarthyism later drove him out of our country.
