On The Bob Dole Story...

Last edited Tue Dec 4, 2012, 11:56 PM - Edit history (1)

My Old Man And Bob Dole Both Fought In WWII, And SAVED DEMOCRACY !!!

With millions of others of course... And you may debate if it was in fact saved, or even ever existed, but...

They were in different theaters, and different political parties... but they both fought, survived, and created a new paradigm... AND... THEY AND THEIR FELLOW CITIZENS CREATED THE ENVIRONMENT FOR NEW PEOPLE, UN-FUCKING-GRATEFUL PEOPLE, TO BECOME WEALTHY.

But there have been many times in the last couple of decades... that I was actually glad my old man was NOT around to see this kind of SHIT!

(He died of Cancer in 1975.)

Bob Dole just got to see the UNGRATEFUL SOB's this country has produced, and who's wealth and success was greatly enhanced by people like my father and Senator Dole.

I'm sort of glad my father didn't have to see the betrayal.

behalf of disability rights.

For his lifetime of civil rights advocacy Dad was asked to speak at the ADA signing and received the pen.

The 'greatest generation's legacy is being tarnished by these entitled chicken hawk zealots...

It's appalling.

I also am relieved my father is no longer around to see this betrayal.

Dole, in a New Bow to Right, Returns Gay Group's Money
By RICHARD L. BERKE
Published: August 27, 1995

Scrambling to enhance relations with conservatives, Senator Bob Dole's Presidential campaign said today that it was returning $1,000 from a gay Republican group.

The campaign said it had accepted the June donation by mistake, and would never have taken money from an organization that supported causes Mr. Dole opposed, like allowing homosexuals in the military. But correspondence made public today by the president of the group, the Log Cabin Republicans, showed that Mr. Dole's national finance chairman had sought the group's help in raising money as recently as May. snip

Nelson Warfield, Mr. Dole's spokesman, said that the campaign had accepted the donation from the Log Cabin Republicans, a nationwide organization with more than 40 chapters, only because of "a financial screw up."

"It's our policy that we won't accept contributions from groups that have a specific political agenda that's fundamentally at odds with Senator Dole's record and his views," he said.

I remember him using it a lot when he ran for president.

Bob Dole was a repulsive bastard. He would do or say anything for a vote. Like most Republicans.

and a current senator, all Republicans backing this bill. If there is any "cliff" that we should be talking about, it should be the one we push the 38 senators off who stopped the bill from even coming to a vote.

Loved Bob Dole. Disagreed with him politically (my dad was a Democrat) but really admired him.

And I'm glad my dad's no longer here to see what happened today. He would have been appalled.

Seems to be the hallmark of the Republicans psyche. When others get govt funds, it is a handout. When they do, they deserve it. I can't tell you all the Republicans living off Social Security, Disability, and govt pensions that I've seen complain about entitlements and federal spending. They are never grateful for anything and instead see themselves as entitled. They display an astounding level of cognitive dissonance.

I wonder what Bob Dole thought about his party as he watched them vote today?

They use one when we don't want to follow international law and the other when we want to change a regime.
