It must be frustrating to realize that all your work has been for nothing, as it becomes apparent that Trump is not going to face justice for January 6th or in the documents scandal.
Think. Again.

Even if Trump wins - there are several weeks between that news and any ability for the new administration to fire him or block the report

And we will never see grand jury reports, or witness testimony, or any of the detail that would come out in trial.
At best, we will see a master of fact summary. At worst, we will see a bill barr rewrite of history.

(26,933 posts)Was it the unredacted report? No
but thats because the AG kept that from happening.
The current AG is not in Trumps pocket and cannot be replaced prior to January

(15,265 posts)It appears the federal trials will not happen in 2024, and may not happen at all even in 2025.
So if tsf ends up back in power it's all moot. Nothing will come out.
Even if biden stays in office, no report will be written until 2026 at the earliest.
Canon will drag that case out for years. Scotus has already set the stage for the j6 trial to drag out past 2025. It just isn't going to move.

(10,406 posts)If Trump loses, the Supreme Court may well grant him some kind of qualified immunity that gives no immunity to future presidents and Trumps federal cases go away. Whether Georgia would then continue the RICO case is questionable. I wish I had some faith in this Supreme Court doing the right thing, but I do not.

It sank with nary a ripple.
Despite overwhelming and compelling evidence that these Republican Administrations had committed multiple crimes, once they were out of office the whole affair was dropped.
Even the media were no longer interested. They had already moved on to "the Clinton Scandals" such as Whitewater that turned out to be frivolous.
