2. Perhaps oversimplified, but what exactly is the problem?

Based on the article, it's an accurate summation. We've known for a very long time that there's a gender gap in Trump's support.

"A majority of men — 54 percent — said that Trump respects women either “a lot” or “some.” Just 31 percent of women saw things that way."

To a hammer, everything looks like a nail, I guess.

10. The problem is that the only mention of E. Jean Carroll is that she "accused him of rape"

and that he paid damages to her for defamation. It was not just an accusation - a jury found he was liable for sexual abuse, and the judge said it would be called "rape" in most jurisdictions. The NYT did not ask its male interviewers about that rape, just the consensual affair with Stormy Daniels.

They are minimizing rape. That's why they need an intervention.

3. Why would they need an intervention?

That's what most men say, and women don't. Maybe "most men" need an intervention.

Regardless, you'd better cancel your subscription again.

With an appalling article, the headline can't really save it. The sub-head is a self-satirizing "views differ" piece of crap - it could have been "Sexual abuse apparently not a problem for them", but the NYT really doesn't care, do they?

6. The main problem is not that they are reporting on the poll but on how they presented it.

They made sure the most eye catching part was TRUMP RESPECTS WOMEN. The fact that women disagree is much smaller. (As I think Nevilledog was indicating. )

7. NYT Article today: "Why I'm Getting More Pessimistic About Biden's Chances This Fall"

By the hero of hypocrisy David Brooks. It's an everyday effort by The NYT Times Corporation to create a horserace mentality, and thus more viewers/readers. Plus, reichwing tax slashing and deregulation policies always favor corporations. I understood this reality when I was about 10, but most of murca stumbles in the dark.
