Lots of dead civilians is most wars.

The US killing almost 3 million Japanese was not genocide because as soon as they surrendered we stopped, if we were intent on genocide the bombing would have continued.

The Jews could have surrendered all they wanted to Hitler, he was still going to put them in boxcars to the death camps, THAT is genocide.

If Hamas surrendered the IDF would stop their assault on Gaza, therefore war, not genocide.

If just dead civilians equaled "genocide" then I guess all these recent wars were too?

But now, your statement:

Not only that, but your reply was directed at the OP, who took no personal editorial postion on the poll results (pro or con) in their OP.

They simply posted the data.

But my republican friends are pro Israel. I will not talk politics with them. I live outside a small town of under 900 - where people have known each other for many yrs & are more tolerant of political differences.

A small percentage of my Dem friends say they will not vote for either candidate. It’s small - but it’s a percentage!

Biden needs to push for an end to the bombing or we could end up with Trump.

I do wish Joe would stop with this unconditional support for everything Israel does. This crap that fucking Netanyahu is doing could very well cost Biden the election and put Trump back in, that is what Netanyahu wants. Trump will assist him in wiping out the Palestinian people.

The same ones pushing claims of genocide are the ones calling President Biden "Genocide Joe."

They're actively trying to divide the Democratic party and reduce support for Biden (which improves Trump's odds), and it appears to be working.

Israel is guilty of multiple war crimes, from weaponizing food and water to deliberately killing civilians as a distraction to effect a hostage rescue (that is, premeditated murder). What the IDF is doing in Gaza is ethnic cleansing. There needs to be prosecution of these atrocities.

But none of that is genocide. That is a term I'd like to see not watered down.

IDK what the difference between "genocide" and "ethnic cleansing" is - probably numbers of people killed. But ethnic cleansing of Gaza is definitely happening.

The second question is "are you going to vote against Biden because of it?" Frankly, I'm more concerned with what's happening in America than I am in Gaza.
