The UAW negotiated the beginning of a 4-day, 8-hours per day workweek in 1979

The rest of the American workforce would have followed suit. Imagine if that had happened. We would have 20% less workers to fill the current labor pool. Unemployment? What unemployment?

Year after Reagan fired the air traffic controllers that was the first benefit the UAW conceded back to the companies in their first ever concession contract.

Been all down hill for the working person since then.

Bet a lot of people didn't know about this.

he had a hard enough time filling up his weekends already.

The idea some some workers might love their families and enjoy seeing them didn't occur to Mr. Iacocca.
