As long as they're gonna redo Clockwork Orange they may as well redo 2001: A Space Odyssey. Only this time instead of Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood (real human actors), they will opt for (thanks to their purchase of the Star Wars franchise) Jar-Jar and the Ewocks.

And certainly Disney would prefer the voice of the HAL 5000 to be like Twikki in the 1980 TV series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century with Gil Garard and Erin Grey and Mel Blanc (AKA Bugs Bunny) as Twiki, the kiddie toy product placement.

Alas, Mel's voice characterizations died with him. But maybe we can get Mel Brooks instead. I am sure Disney could equally destroy 2001 with any Mel you could choose. Maybe Mel Gibson could do it.
