(31,471 posts)I will hope that the people here have had enough of Republicans. The last 12 years have been a downward spiral since poor turnout in 2010 allowed Repubs to gerrymander the state. Poor turnout again in 2022 resulted in Repubs taking over the state Supreme Court which immediately reheard a gerrymandering case and reversed the ruling. A turncoat Dem just allowed the state Legislature to override the Governor's veto of a drastic anti abortion bill.
Republicans are destroying the public schools and attempting to ruin the well respected and academically acclaimed University system.
People have to come out and vote. They must.

(5,194 posts)there is a slow migration of out-of-staters to deep red TN where I live.
I wish the trickles would turn to a flood of new blue residents.

(2,644 posts)but repubs are running the show from what I'm reading especially with school choice. If the people welcome choice school then it may not happen

(15,753 posts)Theyve already got a Dem governor, but its one of the worst gerrymandered states both for congress and the state legislature, so I dont see that changing for awhile.

(8,945 posts)given the anger over new abortion law and gerrymandered super majority that has been shoved down our throats. But we will see if people are angry enough now. There is an awful lot of ignorance and stupid holding on in NC, like electing those judges.
