But most egregious, and what loomed large in his termination, people familiar with the matter told Confider, was how during his deposition with Dominion lawyers, when he was asked if this wasnt the only time you referred to Sidney Powell as a cunt, the Fox News star responded: You know I-I-I cant know and I just want to apologize preemptively. I mean youre trying to embarrass me, youre definitely succeeding as I am embarrassed.
Carlson being nailed in court documents for his repeated use of the overtly misogynist c-word was a key factor in his demise, as Fox News had rid itself of Roger Ailes and Bill OReilly after years of sexual-harassment complaints and could not have its biggest star undermining any supposed progress.
Carlson, who was given no reason for his termination, was stunned by the development, people familiar with the situation told Confider. He told staffers who inquired: I have no idea whats going on. Neither Carlson nor Fox News responded to requests for comment.

(18,837 posts)It was put well earlier this evening on MSNBC..."Rupert will put up with it, until he doesn't."
It's a coin toss over what would have been done...if anything...if the Dominion suit hadn't happened.
And Fox isn't going to change the message, they're just going to be careful about messengers who "potentially" draw more lawsuits.

(11,478 posts)complete and utter hypocrisy - of criminal organizations that profess to have a 'code of honor' - or purported ethical constraints. Yeah, right! You just keep on telling yourself that. Like a pit viper has ethical lines and moral compass.
No matter how hard you shovel that stuff around ... In the end ... Still the stuff that comes out of the wrong end of the cow.

(14,403 posts)Almost any action in the name of "honor" by a mob family, whether fact or fiction, seems to always be driven by one person or group subjugating another.

But wow.. I had read he's a misogynist.. on Steroids and Red Bull.
I guess we can thank Dominion for this since their Lawsuit brought this to light.

(6,618 posts)did he get an exit package? He was so grossly over-paid already he shouldn't have to work another day in his life.
DemocraticPatriot
(4,571 posts)if he did not spend what he was paid like a dog in heat...
What I would like to see, is that he cannot get another well-paid job in his life,
and that he already spent all the money he made from Faux---
and that TRUE PATRIOTS will continue to harass him when he appears in public--
whether it is at the fishing equipment shop, the grocery store, or the Circle K...

(4,274 posts)because if he had just cajoled these MAGA clowns like Rupert wanted and then kept his mouth shut behind the scenes about everything including the brass at Faux he would still have his mega-million dollar job. But he got so full of himself, like O'Malley did, that his mouth off camera was his eventual undoing. He was the big shot with the number 1 show and his messages behind the scenes about everything really show how it all went to his head.

Ive always wondered how the children of corrupt, lying politicians and media personalities and other well known despicable public figures handle the fact that their parent is willing to knowingly lie and cheat for money or votes or adulation. It must take a terrible toll on the kids. I dont understand how a parent can do that to their own children.
try to imagine if that child was LGBTQ
