Need some research pointers for the next wave of crap I see coming...

Has anyone seen the stories coming out now about how businesses are cutting hours/laying off people because PPACA has little chance of going away post-election? (I have a hard time believing these companies didn't consider this their ace in the hole).

While I was really hoping for a reprieve from stemming misinformation I see/hear elsewhere, I'd appreciate if any other DUers who might have looked into this chiming in on anything they found.

Here's one I've run across from a posting elsewhere (http://www.ksl.com/?sid=22890041&nid=148&title=utah-company-blames-president-obama-for-102-workers-laid-off&s_cid=featured-4).

So what's the real story? Business was already rough and they are cutting workers or is it simply petulance that businesses didn't get what they wanted and are taking it out on the little guy (again)? Better to blame on the election and Obama?

Thanks for any insights.

the corporate shill. So let's give it to the average american worker. It will blow over I suspect when they realize the economy is growing and they will have to hire back.

"American Coal has a history of laying off and rehiring workers at the Galatia mine. During December 2005 and January 2006, more than 400 miners were let go. A year later, the company was hiring. In February 2007, an American Coal spokesman told News 3 the mine had rehired 300 employees and planned to add another 250 jobs by the end of that year. "

They will lay people off, probably already planned on it, then will re-hire later.

The RW lap dogs will see this, put it into their brains as 'look what obama did!', and never even take the one minute it took me to see that this is normal for that company (because they want to believe - it is like religion, no proof neeed - just say something that is negative and they believe it).

And when they rehire more than they laid off later (which they did before) I would bet a years' pay not one of those sources (fox/drudge/fr/hannity/beck) will mention it at all (UNLESS there is some way they can magically say it had something to do with some bill the house passed...even if it never became law).

Stupid - it is what the RW is.

is that management will never be cut or take a pay cut. Everything else (non-management wages & positions, product price & quantity, manufacturing cost) is zero sum.

I can't seem to find it Anyway, most of the layoffs they are screaming about were announced months ago or the jobs are in Europe and going because of the Austerity crap. I'll keep looking for that link...

edit: this isn't the one I was looking for, but it has a lot of the same info http://kaystreet.wordpress.com/2012/11/09/fox-news-claims-obamas-win-triggered-massive-layoffs-across-america/
