(13,776 posts)They love democracy more than the people whose job it's supposed to be to administer it.
They showed how important democracy is, how the right to vote, the determination to vote against all odds is crucial for everyone.

(3,944 posts)it was called for Obama.
Even after Romney conceded.
Even after Obama's victory speech.
It was truely inspiring.

(18,402 posts)I wanted those 29 Florida EVs in Obama's column even though they didn't matter. I wanted it for the record. And I knew since around 10 pm Tuesday night that he'd won the state.
Rick Scott can now sit and wait for his twelve other pages of ridiculous ballot questions to be counted to the last person. Obama won his state.

(12,160 posts)according to the repuke spokesman in Florida, they must have left something off the table in their efforts to win. He said it wouldn't happen again.
What's next with these effers? Shooting people who look as if they might vote Democratic?

(40,416 posts)It is the votes which speak, and only the votes.
In 2000, if Al Gore had conceded and then a recount gave him FL EVs, he would have been inaugurated in Jan, 2001.
But this concession by Romney is important because it means that there will be no recount rubbish in FL this year (at least not with regards to the presidential electoral votes). They know they lost big.
Apparently that crazy West has other ideas.

(145 posts)Stood in line for an hour. Not too bad considering what I've been hearing.
The thing about SR County is... I've heard that only 25% of the registered voters in the county actually voted. Not sure that's an exact or accurate number, but that's something I was told.
JohnnyBoots
(2,969 posts)only took a half an hour for early voting. Was happy to be surprised by that.

(9,298 posts)right up until Obama's re-election was confirmed on teevee. He's 91 and has voted Democratic his whole long life. When I saw this news about Florida, I wrote 206 in red and 332 in blue with a smilie face on an index card and taped it to his laptop. He was thrilled, and for Florida folks, acknowledged the sacrifice of many thousands who stood on long lines.
IT'S TRULY SUNNY IN THE SUNSHINE STATE!

(802 posts)...understanding that if the difference were half a point or something, it would trigger an automatic recount, and that, since the final total wouldn't change who's gonna be the next President, the State of Florida was going to ask Romney to request that they 'not' redo the count. Wonder if the Obama campaign could request the count even if Romney's wouldn't? Why? Cause since even if the count went against the President it wouldn't matter, but at least that bastard of a Governor would have to spend the money to do it...and think how nice it would be to get an even bigger spread...either way the a-hole would deserve to have his nose rubbed in it a little more.

(25,415 posts)Thank you to those that stood in long lines to vote our President in, you are all amazing!
Rick Scott needs to be thrown out.
Hubert Flottz
(37,726 posts)And if he's thrown anywhere it should be in federal prison for tampering with the election and racial discrimination against registered voters in Florida.
No more mister nice guy, about election theft or fraud. We owe it to all the people who had to wait in lines so long to exercise their right to legally vote, to see to it that this criminal shit never happens again. If we let this slide, it will NEVER stop.
Tagg and ES&S needs to be investigated too.

(442 posts)capital at 286 - time for Obama & Co. to push for the agenda that the Country voted for! And to those of us that supported him and the causes . . . Time for us to chase the Repuks back into the holes they crawled out of and make sure that this majority holds for the next several election cycles . . . We could possibly being living in the era of a new Warren Court with progressive agendas being successful whether through legislation or the courts!!!

(6,865 posts)They said nearly all the outstanding votes were from Democratic counties, so it was unlikely that Rloser would close the gap, but more likely that PRESIDENT OBAMA would increase his margin of victory.
