1. She had some very intelligent and articulate arguments

I liked what she had to say. She did drop out. I guess she didn't file documentation to get her name removed.

I'd probably pick the roadkill

5. i didn't even see her on my ballot

i guess i didn't look close enough.

Those who voted for her probably did so as an anti-war protest. That is her main issue as I understand. I can't knock that, though obviously I made a different choice.

No 3rd party candidate played any kind of role this election other than stroking their own egos.

If you voted 3rd party, you flushed your vote down a toilet.

8. In California, Barr and Cindy Sheehan ran on the Peace and Freedom Party (and,

were actually the first choice on the Presidential ballot).

The Green Party was also on the ballot here (Jill Stein and Cheryl Honkkola).

Don't follow the marginal parties closely enough to know why the two didn't form a coalition.

California rotates the names be assembly district, so the person who's candidate 1 of 6 in district 1 becomes number 6 in district 2.

Anyway, the Libertarian and Green candidates both beat her.

remember the numbers and left my sample ballot down in the car.

Used to be represented by Karen Bass (also totally awesome) before redistricting.

11. But look what non-gerrymandered redistricting can do

(California, like most states, was redistricted recently. Rather than have the parties do it, a panel of citizen volunteers tried to actually make it fair and aimed to redistrict more along city and county lines rather than preserving "safe" districts. As a result, we appear to have a super-majority in both state houses)

Yeah, it's going to take some getting used to being in the 20th (I think) instead of the 14th, even though we kept Eshoo as rep. - I would have loved to have been moved into Spier's district, which is only a few blocks away.
