Geraldo Rivera: FOX charges on Libya: "GOP Bloodlust . . .An Obscene Lie . .insincere and desperate

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/geraldo-and-eric-bolling-in-screaming-match-over-attempts-to-blame-obama-admin-for-benghazi-deaths/

Rivera detailed precisely why he thought that the United States government did all that they could at the time of the attack, and that investigation into this incident is flawed given its proximity to the upcoming election.

He said that the fighting in the compound in Benghazi was over by the time Washington became aware of the crisis.

“So, Washington, the State Department, the CIA sends no help,” Bolling said.

“That is an obscene lie,” Rivera shot back. “You are a politician looking to make a political point.”

Bolling and Rivera engaged in crosstalk as Rivera attempted to claim that there were no assets available to rescue the trapped American diplomats in a safe house near the compound. Bolling claimed that regional rescue teams were available to help the besieged diplomats and Marines.

“You are misleading the American people because you want to make a political point,” Rivera said. “We have never in the history of this republic mounted a raid on the circumstance described here ever.”

Geraldo Rivera slammed the politicization of the attack in Benghazi, firing off a series of tweets while hunkered down at home in Edgewater, N.J., during Hurricane Sandy. Rivera, the Fox News contributor and "Geraldo at Large" host, criticized the controversy being pushed by some conservatives.

It's "clear no C130 gunships were available," Rivera tweeted. "Criticize coverup [but] saying White House watched [and] did nothing to help is a lie."

Rivera called the "GOP bloodlust" surrounding the Obama administration's handling of Libya "insincere," "desperate" and reminiscent of the political firestorm surrounding the "Fast and Furious" gun-walking scandal that rocked the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in 2011.

The "real" question regarding Benghazi, Rivera tweeted, is this: "Did Obama spin to retain Bin Laden killer mystique?"

To suggest the four U.S. consulate workers killed in Benghazi "could have been saved," Rivera added, is a "cruel myth."

"Life is not an action movie," he tweeted.

As Mediaite pointed out, Rivera did not mention Fox News—which has aired much of the "GOP bloodlust" over Benghazi—in his criticism of the criticism.

FOX has like 20 times the ratings as CNN, but even CNN gets to plaster those headlines at airports and doctor's offices, etc.

Obama has had to overcome so much - they never give him a break.

BECAUSE IT'S BULLSHIT. Even too much bullshit for Romney.

Why didn't Benghazi make his Big Important Speech?

11. Why was Romney silent on Benghazi in the third debate on foreign policy?
Sat Nov 3, 2012, 03:58 PM
Nov 2012

The media built up all week long before the final debate the idea that Romney would go after Obama and try to make up for his poor showing in the second debate on this issue and his lie about Obama's Rose Garden speech. Instead, Romney completely backed off the only controversy he could possibly raise against Obama on foreign policy. Even Romney knows it's a lost cause.

13. Years and years ago, Geraldo exposed a really terrible and abusive institution for children on

Staten Island called Willowbrook. His reporting showed these inhuman conditions the kids were living in, got the institution closed, forced other institutions to be looked at, and changed the way we treat children with disabilities in the USA. He changed a lot of lives for the better in a big way.

For years, I have been very sad to see the person who did that debasing himself on Dumbfoxistan. But it is nice to see he is calling some people out on their lies about this issue.

Accept his future apology and flaunt him as a person that saw the light.

People become disenchanted with following losers.

This is like the spell on Snow White. Fox is a tough spell to break, but once some folks are enlightened, they need someplace to go.

Rivera can lead the way.
