Can't let this WEASEL try to sanitize his dismal FEMA record and pivot to a ' new & improved ' Romney FEMA position. He knows he's in a very tight spot with this issue and in football terms,... he doesn't have possession, the 2 minute warning game clock is running and he's out of time outs.
He must NOT be allowed to pivot and rewrite his FEMA position these last 6 days left.
Newly Moderate Mitt's campaign wants you to know that really, he didn't mean it at all when he let Severely Conservative Mitt say that it was "immoral" to be spending federal money on disaster relief. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/10/29/1152002/-Romney-in-primary-Federal-disaster-relief-immoral
If Newly Moderate Mitt becomes president, his campaign says, there will always be help. They have to say it because Romney himself has gone mum on the issue.
"A Romney-Ryan administration will always ensure that disaster funding is there for those in need," said campaign spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg. "Period."
Romney's campaign says he's not interested in getting rid of FEMA, though Romney himself ducked a spate of opportunities Tuesday to clarify his position. The campaign instead issued a statement that essentially endorsed the current disaster aid system.[...]
But what the campaign wouldn't do is say whether a President Romney would insist that help for disaster victims be funded by cutting other programs in the federal budget.

That's going to have to be magical unicorn fart funding, since the Romney/Ryan budget would cut domestic, discretionary spending from 12 percent of GDP to 3.5 percent of GDP by 2050. That's about 80 percent. So 80 percent less funding for everything? Or 90 percent cuts for a whole bunch of things, like roads, airports, prisons, education, law enforcement, embassies, student loans, unemployment insurance, etc., so that disaster aid wouldn't be cut at all? The arithmetic, it doesn't work.
The real answer is that, once again, whether its Newly Moderate or Severely Conservative Mitt, he's full of shit.

(8,377 posts)He has really been giving that pivot move a workout.
He could show us his favorite new dance, the "Etch A Sketch" with lots of pivoting and shakin', danced to a cha-cha beat. You shake the etch-a-sketch as if it were a pair of maracas.

(1,435 posts)How anyone can defend his positions, when he doesn't believe himself. His claim to fame is indecisiveness, lying is his trademark.
His budget is impossible to add up, by most economists standards. He wants to add two trillion to defense budget, that the military doesn't even want. Kill all the new deal programs.

(5,436 posts)I hate "pivot".
I (actually) hate Etch-A-Sketch even tho' I use it in my posts.
I hate all the other euphemisms the entire MSM (especially NBC & NPR) use for Willard The Draft Dodger's unending and endless flip-flops.
The phrase was INCESSANT when it came to Kerry's one or two changes, yet it is almost non-existent in regards to Willard The Tax Cheat's pandering.
I HATE IT!!!
Calm down,....in 6 days this will be all over.
BUT,....for the next 6 days a laser spotlight needs to shine on this flip-flopping WEASEL.
'Pivot" will be just another word forever lost in the shuffle.
