The kids would have handled it and been happy. We would have been a whole lot better off, and much sooner.

a kid who had an African-American classmate in his kindergarden class. His name was Jack and he was the only African-American. His mother was trying to remember the names of his classmates when looking at a picture of the class.
She asked him which one Jack was. He looked at the picture and said,"The one in the purple shirt."
I wish we all were as blind to differences.
