Nothing from the other affected states/areas. Pennsylvania? Vermont? Connecticut? I'd like to know what is happening in areas other than NY & NJ.
Thanks,

(22,271 posts)I don't have TV service and only an intermittent online connection to CNN. I'm thinking others may be in the same boat.

(34,113 posts)I wonder too, but alas the world view from NYC is limited.

Also this weirdly prescient image popped up on my search for the above image.

Very cute. As a Californian, I can relate. According to the media, we only have two cities: Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Seriously, I briefly saw a ticker on my CNN connection about two victims found in Connecticut (?). I'm wondering also about Pennsylvania which was also supposed to be affected. It's frustrating to be in the dark like this.

(2,391 posts)Here are two in CT (no idea how they lean, but this isn't about politics, so,...):

And for other states:

And I'm in Texas, so I know exactly what you mean about states and their news focus.

(22,271 posts)I especially like the last link. I think I'll post some updates from some of the other states. (On edit: Maybe not. I just noticed the time.)
Thanks to all DUers who provided me with links.

(4,740 posts)The forecasts for our area were daunting (huge winds, 10+ inches of rain, 2-3 days of it), but the winds were only occasionally stronger than a typical big storm, not that much rain, and it seemed over by early Tuesday a.m. We were prepared for a big hit, but happy to see very little damage in our neighborhood.

(11,065 posts)as if they were the only two places in the whole country. I can't even find any Philly news in Philly news - it all about NJ. Then again, I'm used to the Philly papers and news networks spending half or more of their time on NJ rather than Philly (and yeah, I always hated that, too). Does NJ not have it's own papers and tv networks??? Oh, and when I say Philly, I'm talking about the city only... according to papers and tv networks there is only the City of Philly and all of the state of NJ.

Looks like a lot of snow in WV/Md: http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/blizzard-conditions-in-parts-of-appalachia-snow-shuts-interstate-in-wva-maryland/2012/10/30/6532a844-227f-11e2-92f8-7f9c4daf276a_story.html

(25,415 posts)East Lyme, Stonington, Milford, Branford, New Haven, Bridgeport. Many more towns too. 13 foot storm surge was reported near the western coast.
Someone died in Mansfield when a tree fell on them. Someone went out in the flooded waters in Milford and is missing.
People that did not evacuate along the shore and were stuck in their homes as the water came in had to rescued by the National Guard. Gov. Malloy had told them earlier not to go out in the flood waters as they could drown. Urged them to get onto the highest part of their house without water. Some had to go on their roofs. But he said they were all rescued which is good.
Power outages all over Connecticut. Lots of trees down and power lines down everywhere.
I lucked out being Terryville. We got little power outages here. Seems the middle of the state was the best place to be. Just our fence fell down a little. We are so lucky here.

Terryville is part of Plymouth on the outage map. Just 9% power outages now.
And poor Dock and Dine in Old Saybrook just opened two months ago. The had to renovate from Hurricane Irene. Now major damage again. It is a restaurant my grandmother (who died two years ago) loved.
And this picture from Milford is all over CT:
