Otherwise they would support child healthcare, universal daycare, maternal leave etc.

(5,896 posts)You think they want "kids born" if they're brown and in poverty? They want MORE black and brown babies and immigrant babies and poor babies? Because banning abortions means more babies of color, immigrant babies, and poor babies.
Wealthy white women always have options. Poor people, people of color, and immigrants often can't even have access to reliable birth control. These are the people who will be filling maternity wards. Or dying in back-alley abortions.
This has nothing to do with babies and EVERYTHING to do with keeping women "in their place." The GOP patriarchy is scared shitless of smart, powerful women on an equal playing field. And because they can't handle the competition, they kick women off the playing field.
Don't ever fall for their bullshit. It has absolutely nothing to do with babies and everything to do with making sure women can't compete with men on an equal playing field.

(34 posts)Will you be adopting all of the children born now?? Asked several protestors that question and not one of them good Christian Bible thumpers answered positively. They are great at expecting someone else to take care of those children...but they are too busy to step up and take one on themselves. Here in Okie land the right wing evangelicals are high 5ing each other and getting ready to try and install a theocracy in the state. And the sad thing a lot of people think that is a good thing.

(3,433 posts)They want to punish women (especially poor ones) from having sex.
They also want a cudgel for causing terror in their own teen daughters. Sons...not so much.
When will the American Taliban start regulating women's dress?
