http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/news/55136572-78/peterson-woman-cabin-met.html.cspPeterson, 37, was found dead in his Heber City cabin, the site of some of the highlights of his political endeavors, and the place where prosecutors said Peterson raped at least two of his victims.
Petersons death was confirmed Tuesday night by Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill and defense attorney Cara Tangaro.
Gill charged Peterson in July with 25 charges of assault, rape and kidnapping stemming from alleged attacks on four women he met through LDS dating websites. Later, Wasatch County prosecutors filed similar charges involving a fifth alleged victim.
Peterson had been in the Salt Lake County jail until Friday, when he posted bond and was allowed to walk free.

(14,139 posts)That man was as slimy as could be. He gave me the creeps every time I was in the same room with him. I'm fully convinced he was guilty, and may he rot in hell. Too bad his victims don't have an easy way out--they will have to live with the memory of his despicable acts.

(27,670 posts)I'm speculating if he had his bond covered in exchange for taking one for the team. Someone, some group some organization, had to put up a minimum of $200,000.
My research has not turned up who paid the bond, and the lack of transparency about who posted bond has so far led me to be...speculative about who paid his bond. "Declined to comment" and all that, ya know.
Just wondering if it was maybe the GOP or the Mormon Church that posted bond.
My guess would be the Mormons, but that's nothing but a guess.

A long time ago they got stung buying forged documents they thought were authentic (they were embarrassing to the church). Lucky for them most, if not all, were paid for by wealthy members of the church. Members who had been asked to pay for them.
