The capabilities of them improved, the tactics changed, and the other two points of the "triad" are super formidable too. Hell if it was 1916 and had a choice, I'd take 25 percent of our present naval fleet over twice numbers the US fleet then, and know I would absolutely dominate the battle, and then some. It's a goddmaned no-brainer!

Either Mitt's truly an idiot, or he failed at a sleight of hand by thinking everybody else is.

He just want's to be President. He wants the power and fame . You have to remember, he would go up to rich people and kiss their ass to get them to hand over their money so he could buy and sell other people's companies. As President those same rich people would now be kissing his ass for favors. Not only that but the job would make him a fortune in bribes alone.

For every nutjob neocon warmonger that'll give him a high-five, ten more people just roll their eyes and groan. I mean, to not even proofread his "ships" statement to check it against reality even a neocon advisor should see speaks volumes at both who they are and who they think their base is. Unreal.

He's so insulated by his lofty position, he's conflated the reasons for getting there: His privilege and wealth allowed him to amass more power. He then thinks nobody could get as far as he if they weren't so smart. Therefore he's "smart", and if it's always been "my way of the highway" for him, he's not going to see his own faults. Now he's a sheltered sneering douchebag thrust into the real world and he just can't deal with that fact it isn't his way or the highway anymore. Same deal with Trump. I call it poetic justice.

In a way this demonstrates a lot of similarities with Dubya because it shows the same lack of intellectual curiosity.

Only in his case you get the idea he doesn't know stuff because that kind of thing is beneath him.

He's the type that would smash his thumb with a hammer because he's never used one before.

During Reagan they discovered the advantage of using the office of the President as nothing but the PR department to sell their unpopular policies to the public. The President wasn't supposed to actually run things. He was supposed to act as their spokesman.

Look at Daddy Bush. He stopped them from "finishing the job" in Iraq because he realized he was in charge. Dubya was perfect. He was like a beady eyed kid who took a lot of naps. Romney might get in their way or worse, think that he's running things.
