You know what? I dont give a shit if Im "inspired".

Last edited Mon Oct 15, 2012, 10:15 PM - Edit history (1)

I dont give a shit how Obama does in this debate. I am voting for our President no matter what. Because of the two, he shares my ideals the closest. I dont choose the person I want to lead the country by debate performance. That's fucked up.

I had to ignore DU after the last debate between O and mr. 1%. I simply dont give a shit who has the most "zingers" or gotcha lines in the course of an hour or so. I'm not de-spirited. Im not depressed. Im not going to change my vote.

I will vote for Obama just as enthusiastically this time as I did in 2008. Fuck them.

Obama 2012. That is all.

because I've already got a handle on who is smarter and has better plans for the country.

What I saw, and the low info voter saw, was Romney ready to jump out of his skin, smirking, interrupting, and generally being the kind of aggressive jerk we try to avoid when we can. Obama just looked incredibly tired, like he'd been up all night worrying about the Syria-Turkey situation.

I couldn't believe all the crepe hanging here on DU as all the corporate news pundits gave the debate to Romney. Obama's performance wasn't sharp or aggressive, but it does seem to be the one that stuck with people, while Romney just sticks in their craws. Recent poll trends have borne this out.

My advice to debate watchers is to flick the channel as soon as the first doughy pundit appears on the screen. Take away your own impression. Likely it's the right one.

Obama has done the right things despite huge barriers and obstacles, and has provided evidence he will do so in the future. Romney has not. It's simple.

Seriously I still can't get over how the media ESPECIALLY LIBERALS threw The Prez under the bus for being "uninspired" hello he's had the hardest job in the world for 3-1/2 years, neither he nor Mitt said anything to change my mind, that's for SURE.

It would be like a roast, with a zinger every few seconds. Who gives a shit whether Don Rickles would know how to establish progressive policies or run a modern country. The media and its armies of expert pundits would love to cover a Rickles debate for its entertainment value and could sell a lot of toothpaste or toilet paper commercial time. What matters is whether we are entertained.

and I'm getting ready to not log in to DU until after the election.

I'm sick of polls, I'm sick of the "concern", and I'm sick of the little weenie D's that gasp & have conniption fits over the slightest thing.

My Grandmother, bless her sweet sweet self, would have slapped the crap out of half of the whinners here, and she was only 5'3". She lived thru the depression and raised 6 children while she moved from farm to farm to pick cotton in the dust bowl days of Texas. She voted Democrat all her life, her husband was a railroad man & if it hadn't been for the Union and FDR, they would have starved to death.

I agree 100%. I never thought the debates were worth all that much anyway. AND HOW DID ROMNEY GAIN SO MUCH FROM JUST ONE DEBATE ANYWAY!! ARE THEY CHEATING? SOMEHOW? I'm voting for obama because i know for a fact that rich boy is a fast-talking political pyrimid scam artist. He's been getting away with his nonsense mostly because of conservative media outlets and a lot of fast talking, not saying anything, pretty-boy suit wearing, taking advantage of old people, american greed type con artist. Old people and the very poor are listening to him because the don't read--they tune in to foxnews so they're misled. SCREW THE DEBATES, I'M VOTING FOR THE MAN WHO KEPT THIS COUNTRY AFLOAT AND GROWING (SLOWLY, BUT GROWING)--PRESIDENT OBAMA!!!

I know his policies, I know what he stands for and I will happily pull that lever (er - push that computer button) for him.
Besides, Joe Biden gave me all the debate high I needed. That was perfection. They make a great team and then, throw Michelle into the mix and I am one inspired voter.

Our hope and sense of possibilities in 2008 were breathtaking.
Like you, I don't need to be inspired. I'm in to win.
I have my issues with some things that have occurred under this administration, but I think we can look at them again in the second term.

know if we can get ourselves together and do the work that needs to be done, the President and Democrats in Congress will listen. I feel like there's more opportunity for talent and skill to move into its own with President Obama than there will be with Romney.
