Just in case you missed it, Obama's Approval Rating Just Caught Up to Reagan's and Clinton's for

the same point in their first terms.

That's right. Despite being hit with the worst economic downturn since FDR, saddled with the most obstructionist Congress since Truman (one that's sabotaged every attempt to IMPROVE the economy since 2010), the most sophisticated right wing propaganda machine since Clinton, and the most well funded opposition since Teddy Roosevelt...Obama's approval ratings have just caught up to Reagan's and Clinton's for the same period in their first terms.

Just click on the link, then click on Reagan's and Clinton's faces (or any other president you'd like to compare Obama's ratings to) and you'll see the comparative graph appear.

If you just compare Obama and Reagan it's kind of interesting. It never fails to make Republican heads explode when you point out that during the deepest parts of the recessions during the Obama and Reagan first terms, Obama was actually MORE popular than Reagan. Not only that, but Reagan's unemployment numbers were higher, topping 10%, which Obama's never did.

for JFK. Looks like his lowest was 58%. Amazing. I think perhaps that actually says a lot about the genuine spirit of non-partisanship that this country had fifty years ago, and the inclination among the majority of people to say after an election, Well okay, this guy is my president and I'll stand behind him.

New organizations actually A) did investigative journalism, even at the expense of running their news divisions at a loss, and B) considered themselves to have a responsibility to fact check, tell the truth, and search for the truth; rather than just shrug and say "well, one side says this and the other says that...we'll let you decide."

36. GOP expectations shredded daily

Bluntly they expected to reap their undeserved harvest from the failure of the President to cope(with their blatant obstruction) with their mess deliberately left him toward this end.

Competence and results have shredded the foundation of the GOP strategy. Now they are stuck clinging to a single thread of charisma performance where Obama has immutable strengths and their own guy a suicide bomber who can only take out himself and the party.

A single pretense added to decades of brainwashing and rankling the American populace to whom it has given nothing but blame games and hate while it openly picks their pockets.

Personally, I'd like the total collapse to happen as quickly as it merits but can enjoy the slow torture process in this case as well. However, the distraction of lies is helping preserve a GOP Congress or at least keep it off the accountability radar. THAT is the biggest defeat for truth in this election. Not one single GOP House member deserves re-election simply by their recorded votes.
