At age 56, I've never wanted a candidate/party to get trounced as much as RMoney/repubs. Never.

Even after enduring and drinking heavily with disbelief with the Reagan coronation, and the shock and anger at the "placement" of the idiot son - twice! - and living through the damage his residency did to the whole world - I think it is the very existence of the tea baggers, the arrogance, over the top wealth and complete bubble life and complete emptiness and lack of true presidential qualities and abilities of R-Money and Ryan - combined with the covert and overt racism and obstructionism of the republican party - it is the ickiness of Cantor, the tears and hue of Boner, and open contempt of the chinless wonder.

I don't just want a Democrat victory and Sweep with Obama's huge F*#&ing coattails....I want to drive this version of the right wing into the ground and as down as possible, so deeply defeated that they have to spend decades and decades wondering what hit them.

Not asking for much, I know....

I feel the lack of Party outrage in 2000 contributed to the general apathy in 2004. Then again no outrage over the stealing of the presidential election in 2004 for the second time in a row. Fool us once in 2000 shame on them, fool us again in 2004, shame on us. The election process still has huge holes. We had four years to plug the holes.

We have a country that is broken. We have an economy that is 70% based on consumer spending, and that spending comes from the middle class. But the plutocrats have been sucking the blood out of the middle class.

That is terribly unfair, but more than that, it is killing our country and killing the American Dream.

Yeah, I want to see Romney and Ryan get spanked, but mostly I want to see the clearest possible repudiation of their ideology.

And finally, I want to see Obama recognize that mandate and take more aggressive action in return.

I am also looking upon this election as if it were the most important one America has ever faced. I find myself saying that as I walk to the mailbox or sit watching the ants.

We still weren't able to openly discuss election fraud in 2004 without sounding like conspiracy nuts. This time, it's different. And even only in very recent days has election fraud been making the headlines.

Now, if we lose, it's a whole different scenario. It would indicate that America itself was the problem.

Every time the Dems take a step towards meeting the Reps halfway, they step away further to the right. With this strategy the middle -- and the goalposts -- have steadily moved further to the right.

What we need is a thorough fact-based policy debate, and then make a strong case for the best policies wherever they fall along the 2-dimensional left/right line. We need 3-dimensional thinking!

As I look to the future I am concerned about SS and Medicare. I could likely survive without or with reduced SS but I had factored it into my retirement planning. But I had NEVER planned on not having Medicare even if the premiums went up significantly. I had always assumed I would be insured and covered even if I had to pay a little more each month because of the cost of the program.

Robme and Lyin-Ryan want to strip seniors of their SS and make Medicare a voucher program to give to the wealthy health insurance companies. I can never agree with that. I am not opposed to gradual changes to these programs over time but not these drastic cuts so they can spend billions more on useless weapons systems and tax cuts for the fucking wealthy.

Gore was on track to pay off the debt by 2009 according to the CBO in 2000. Now, there is hell to pay, and Obama will need a Democratic majority to make any dent in the debt and continue the safety net. If Romney wins, he will probably make the debt worse as he dismantles the safety net and takes us back to the 19th century.

Since then Americans have been getting poorer, working harder, seeing more of their friends out of work... while the Bush and Romney types roll it in. Then they blame us for not being them. It use to be the Republican party hid behind a thin veil and people like Bush Sr. or Nixon did things from time to time for the benefit of society. Now they don't pretend. They hate me and it shows. The 2010 election with death panels, FEMA camps, post colonial Kenyan... BS was the end for me. I have zero respect for their party because their party doesn't even fake respect for me. I naively thought that the Repubs couldn't get much worse then they were in the 90's. I was wrong, with Bush, Cheney and of course Karl Rove. McCain was bad but perhaps as a person not as bad as Bush. But Romney and Ryan disgust me. A money grubbing Plutocrat and an Ayn Rand devotee. How lovely. Not to mention the House and Senate Repubs. They are all just vile and I hope this loss hurts them. But I doubt they will change.

Although it's sometimes difficult to see, we are winning the long battle, at least in the social issues.

Perhap with the defeat of Romney we''ll begin to take back the economic issues as well.

Darwinism. I suppose, for the same exact reason I desperately wanted Reagan to be trounced by Mondale - but that just wasn't possible that year. I suppose I wanted Bush Jr. to be trounced by Kerry - but at best a narrow win was all that was realistically possible that year and even that fell short. This year it is within the range of reasonable possibility and plausibility for Obama to absolutely trounce Romney in a crushing landslide. I'm not saying he will. In fact - not to be a downer - but it is still entirely possible for Romney to win - although increasingly it is looking less than likely. So, given that it is possible that Obama could absolutely trounce Romney is a landslide - and given that this time the economic agenda of the GOP is no longer hidden under distracting social issues, or disguised by Reagan's grandfatherly smile or covered by waves of misguided patriotism as the result of some cooked up foreign crisis - I certainly hope that the possible will happen and Romney and the ideology of social Darwinism that he champions will absolutely get trounced, crushed and buried beneath the dirt. This time, it is possible.
