An article of 100% guaranteed bullshit from the UK's premier RW propaganda rag the Daily Fail. Happily I don't touch any of these beers.

Some brews, including Corona, Budweiser Select and Stella Artois, turned out to be left-leaning, with Heineken being the most Democratic of all brews.
On the other side of the aisle were Coors Light, Miller Lite, Labatt Blue, with Samuel Adams reigning as the most Republican of all brews.
Many beer brands fell somewhere in the middle, among them Miller High Life, Bud Light, Natural Light and Fosters. Those who favored these beverages tended to be nonpartisan and also not likely to partake in elections.

(36,418 posts)Actually, I'm not a brew nationalist. Heineken, Labatt's, Foster's, Stella, etc. aren't bad beer, and some of the Sam Adam's varieties are okay. But, they just aren't really good beer. Of the stuff you can buy in the supermarket, Sierra is very drinkable on a regular basis. Bonefish IPA even more so.
The Triple-sec Trappist Belgium beers are generally outstanding. There are also some British Porters that I enjoy.
I guess I just don't like light Pilsner style as much as the maltier, hoppsier varieties.
But, beer is good food. Bottom's up!
I'm much more likely to drink a good US "craft" beer then any of the beer mentioned in that article.
In fact calling some of the brands mentioned in the article "beer" would be something of a stretch!

Budweiser drinkers lean slightly Democratic. So do MGD drinkers. Coors Light drinkers are heavily Republican, as are Miller Lite (looking at the diagram, I'd say it shows 'light' beer drinkers tend more Republican; this proves they have no taste in anything). However, while they say they had 200,000 interviews, they don't say how many got identified with each beer. A lot of people may have said "don't care" for what beer they drink.

(18,530 posts)Most people buy Milwaukee's Best with change. Cheap American beers are just that and are more indicative of what is in your pocket than what party you register as.
