(46,436 posts)Anchorage has had over twice as much rain this month as usual and those towns around Prince William Sound are drowning. Cordova got almost 18 inches in a three-day period last week.

(2,391 posts)I guess a river flooded all the way up to cover a bridge on the highway? Somewhere, the rain made a river the same level as the road.
I'm also jealous of your rain, even too much rain. It's very dry in Texas and the midwest.

(46,436 posts)There are a lot of wetlands around Valdez, and the salmon come up into the shallows to spawn. Even under the best conditions the highway is only a few feet above the water level.
